Hardly had much choice after it being so blatant. He also says he has done it before so why didn't he come clean then?

I'm simply pointing out that your assertion that he had no choice but to own up because it was so blatant was incorrect and named someone who has never admitted to it and continues to do it. All teams have cheats by this definition.
To be fair least he admitted it and has said he'll stop it, too many players like this in the PL. I still think Hazard goes down to easy at times and dives now and again which frustrates me because it is like just get up and get on with it and stop slowing play down
By this definition all fans support cheats. I support Spurs actually and would not condone cheating by any player. What is your opinion of Chelsea divers.

It's probably a dumb decision on his part. He didn't have to say anything and there wasn't much attention on him for it but he's said he's cleaning up his act so he'll be held to that if he doesn't. Fair play to him though, if he's sincere.
Doesn't make it right but how can anyone criticise him for admitting it? Surely it's worse when players/managers/fans bury their heads in the sand and make excuses for their own team's divers. Maybe one or two on this thread...
We've not had any serial divers in our team since Drogba but even he cut it out after the first few seasons. In essence Townsend has just replaced Bale.
I didn't claim you had serial divers or mention Drogba at all. Anyway what makes a serial diver in your opinion. At the very most you can say Townsend has dived twice. Are you saying you've never had a player who has dived more than once? Every team has divers/cheats but if you say you don't that's simply not true. Back to your original point, you claimed it was easy to apologise for a dive after being caught. I was asking why you think Chelsea players who have been caught haven't apologised if it's so simple. You also implied Townsend should apologise for a dive against Swansea. Considering that was his first dive and you seem to think only serial divers have anything to apologise for, do you expect your players to make apologies to or do you think you don't have any players who have dived at all?
You remember Grønkjær, he was the biggest pansy ive seen in this league,if someone tapped him on the back, he would jump in the air holding his face. Bale last season annoyed me as it was embarrassing but all teams have divers, its just they dont speak up, better to leave fans to make their own mind up, so I get what power is saying as essentially all of us cheer or applaud players who dive. Townsend was silly to speak up as now even if he's changed his mind, hes admitted to being a cheat. Klinsmann for years was the biggest cheat I had ever seen, then he joins us, pokes fun at the diving tag, cleans up his act and was a superb player and role model. Not many like Klinsmann these days as most players would never admit to themselves they cheat and make an effort to change.
