On the BBC football page is a link to Andrew Watson a fascinating insight into How football was changed by a blackman who was part of the slave trade, had mixed parents and a rich family who dealt in slavery. I don't do links! but take a look or maybe someone can link it to here!

thanks … just goes to show that whatever your history / evolution trail follows you can be successful. All over the world [ western ] there are dozens of events in the same vein of successs. Be they business men, sports personalities, in the acting business / health services or any other pursuit … but you have to work for it the same as everyone else, irrespective of your past history.
I never heard of him before today, let alone what he achieved in about 8 or so years of "primitive football" [ as article says 1 man dribbling till dispossessed?.. or scored!? ]

YES SECOND ONE although, not had time to check first one probably interlinked, had to go out at 1730 just got back .. but second one is correct.
somewhere along the path of history the tolerance seems to have diminished. There is a complicated web over the past 50 -60 years of it all going wrong. To be honest racism as I was growing up [ middle years 60's 70's and 80's ] people happily put up with each other. I mean BLACK/WHITE/ MIXTURE managed to appreciate the others history/culture .. worked alongside West Indians / boozed in pubs and clubs run by them / uncle had a thriving shop in St Pauls selling multi racial food etc etc … then it went tits up!!!! what happened??? drugs?? crime??? …..sad, sad sad state of affairs ………..
