Am I alone in thinking that Andrew Robertson should be the first name on the team sheet for us barring injuries.
I wouldn't say you are alone in thinking the same, however you are wrong. Unless we were to play 4-4-2 he does not get in the team for me, as Brady trumps him as he is more balanced in attacking and defending than Robertson, which is needed at left wing back...
personally i would much rather play a 442 ....the 352 hasnt exactly worked this season him and rosenoir shouldve being our regular full backs this season....which then leaves elmo + other/brady to attack better on the flanks and would also leave us further forward instead of sitter back to deep which we have all season.
I have been disappointed with his contribution this season. Very few assists and nowhere near good enough yet as a Premier League defender. Could be great in the Championship , but on the other hand someone might make us a ridiculous offer as the media seem to like him.
He's got plenty of assists when he's actually played. Ripped Chelsea's entire right hand side apart to set up a goal against them. Fact is if he was 3 years older he'd play every week, but Bruce is **** scared of playing youngsters regardless of ability, or in Ince's case, players he thinks are youngsters but really are actually two years older than he thinks.
I really don't think he has had plenty of assists, but he did have that one v Chelsea and one at home to Crystal Palace. But his positioning has been poor at the back on a lot of occasions. Think Ince a slightly different case, and I agree he hasn't really been given much chance and don't think Bruce had any idea what to do with him having bought him.
Not for me. That cross he put in with loads of time and space went straight to lloris. He is shocking at defending anarl really shocking.
I don't think Bruce had any idea what to do with any of the players he brought in except Michael Dawson. We've seen: Ben Arfa as a lone striker. Ince as a lone striker and a central midfielder. Ramirez as a striker, central midfielder (sitting deep) or on the wing, only twice playing in the hole with wingers supporting him. N'Doye as a left winger. Livermore as a right back. Snodgrass as a central midfielder (for as long as he lasted) And the players we already had we've seen: Chester pushed out to right back whilst Alex Bruce plays centre half. Curtis Davies at left back. Paul McShane at left back. Brady as a striker and in central midfield. Figueroa at left back. Huddlestone on the wing. Meyler on the wing. Aluko as a striker. Elmo at left back, even he's had a go up front ffs. In fact, when you think about it, I don't think Bruce has any idea what to do with most players.
He's an attacking player so people focus on any defensive error he makes. He's hardly shipped goals this season has he? Compared to, for example, Figueroa in the second half of last season who is supposedly a specialist defensive fullback.
