    Hello all

Andrew Flintoff has done the impossible and won his professional boxing debut against American Richard Dawson!

He got knocked down once but won on points by 39-38.

Anyone else think that is amazing? To make the transition from cricket, retiring like 5 years ago, taking up boxing in four months and then winning!

    Incredible. I couldn't!

I wasn't sure it was a good idea, but he can retire one happy man. Imagine the ego boost!

    Anyone see it?

Shout out to Price who smashed Skelton too.

Did you see the stare Freddie gave the guy at the start? Ace.

Price is a beast, hope he buries that Gypo Tyson Fury soon.

    Done the impossible?
Beat some fat yank who's 'gangsta' by slapping him in the face like a bitch.

Funniest boxing match ever, how on earth anyone can justify that being a 'professional' fight is beyond me. I would go as far as to say RHC would have done better <ok>

    Good entertainment though.

The guy had two previous fights, and was a fat bastard!

He only landed 2 punches, one of which knocked FF down.

I'm not knocking him for doing it, fair play. But it's the 'professional' bit I don't get?? So could I train for 6 months and get a pro licence? If so, watch your screens come July (ish).

Anyway, that fight was blatantly fixed. Surely the aim of a fight is to try and punch your opponent. The black guy forgot that bit....

I've just watched it. The guys was clearly not much copp, and I get what you're saying now.

As long as he doesn't have another fight I will give him credit.

Don't think it was fixed though.

Nice to see Price win again, we just have to wait until he's older and in decline and then he'll get a real fight against on of the big shots.

Flintoff fight was a joke.. Pro fight but only 2 minute rounds hmm. His score 39 ,yet he could have only scored 8 in the second round after getting knocked. Something stinks.

  9. Thats not true. Being knocked down loses one point and one point only. It is just rare for a round to be equal or won by the guy who was knocked down.

Whether Freddie did enough to warrant this is another matter. I'm currently downloading this fight (includes Price fight too) so can't comment on this until I've watched it <ok>

Good work by Freddie and fair play to him -- even though I totally agree with everything Sky has said on the matter! Freddie's clearly put the work in as you could tell by looking at his gaunt features and much more toned physique. I've interpreted his after fight talk as: I might not fight again as I want to booze it up, eat what I want and slob around again! <laugh>

Price fight: Boom! That didn't last long, did it? Skelton is a tough opponent, but he's getting on a bit and needs to retire soon. Pricey needs to up the ante, opponent-quality wise, in his next two fights if he wants to worry the two Ukrainian usurpers. Price's not a big hitter, but he's technically good, and the Klitchkos never seem to do as well against the taller boxers. I reckon two more fights minimum before an attempt on one of the brothers. Come on, Pricey! <ok>

  13. I knew the fight wouldn't be great and I agree the 'professional' bit is questionable. I could be wrong but I think it basically means he can fight without head gear. Four lots of two minute round isn't unheard of, its just never seem on TV etc.

Anyone watch the Knockout Kings (or something like that) a few years back? It was boxers training and competing against each other to become a pro. It was hosted by Sly Stallone. The fighters looked very poor and a bit like Freddie's standard. I think we are just used to watching the top dogs that we think these guys are a joke, in reality they'd probably kick us lads to **** <laugh> (especially Bluff <whistle>)

any half decent fighter would have destroyed FF, poor defence not great footwork. He should be fit as fk and thats mainly what he's got going for him, this opponent was selected carefully and probably was paid as much for his loss I bet.. maybe more <laugh>

Agree with all but this. Why should he be fit? He retired a while ago and therefore had no reason to stay in shape. Also, cricketers are well known for not being as fit as other sportsmen. They're not in, say, the dart players' league, but they certainly aren't a bunch of marathon runners, that's for sure! <laugh><ok>
