Pink'un just reported that Andreu has had clearance from the FA as well as FIFA and is therefore eligible to play tomorrow if required. Cesc la vie! Edit - Official club website http://www.canaries.co.uk/news/article/norwich-city-tony-andreu-transfer-completed-2252551.aspx?
Team selection and tactics are going to be interesting tomorrow and I'm hoping of a performance resembling the one against Cardiff (but without the capitulation after 60 minutes), as opposed to the one we witnessed against Brentford!!!!
Yes, a good day all round. Looking forward to getting some glimpses of Andreu in the Player highlights.
I certainly did - it was exactly what I hoped for. Yes, Andreu showed glimpses of what he can provide the team.
Every time I read or hear his name, a little bit of wee escapes I really, really want this guy to be the mutts nutts. Would be so good to have a foreigner that can actually offer real benefit to the team.
He certainly showed good promise and once he becomes accustomed to playing with the the other squad members, I'm sure he will be a great asset.
What happened there then? No words, followed by no edit and 'hey presto' the words appear. Not so sure this platform is that much more stable Dave. That is based on one or two other things I have noticed in the last few days.
He only came on in the 68th minute but managed to get three shots away, all of which were on target. We have lacked that from our midfield for large chunks of the season by playing Bradders and Tettey together. Both tend to sit deeper and so there's rarely the midfield support for the striker(s). One swallow and all that, but his 22 minute debut augurs well
Agreed Cromer - he certainly looked hungry and seemed to have a knack of being in the right place at the right time. His three shots on goal were quite weak but at least he had a go - once he's up to pace I think he'll be a force and a huge asset. A midfield of Johnson, Howson (we look so much more fluid with him in the team), Redmond and Andreu/Hoolers is one to relish, especially at home.
If I'm being highly critical our game dipped from the moment he came on and Wes went off. But as said above, he did rattle in a few shots and tried to bomb forward when he could. Didn't really get involved much but when he had the ball he kept it nice and simple and tracked back to cover on more than one occasion. Not sure he will start much but could be a good impact player. A decent enough start and a nice game to come into
That's fair enough Supers, but I got the impression that the game had already dipped before he came on, given the 3-0 lead. It may be a big hope, but I'm hoping he has a range of skills. Most of our other midfielders are good at one thing or another, but not the whole package (good passing, the ability to bomb forward, accurate shooting, the ability to beat players, etc.). Howson is about the closest we have in that regard. We'll have to wait and see, but as Neil says he can play wide on either side or in the 'hole', his flexibility could prove useful as well.
Was Andreu the cause of things lowering in tempo or was that just the fact that the game was all but won, Blackpool were never going to do a cardiff, and we had another game on Tuesday. To me the game was the definition of professional.
RER and Bath. IMO, the tempo of the game had already dipped prior to Andreu coming on and he seemed to want to get involved and drive play forward. His 3 shots on goal were quite weak and didn't trouble Parish.
Fair point about the game dipping before hand but at the time it felt as though it was when Wes went off - we began to let Blackpool have more of the ball from that point.
Andreu did little to impress me or any of my mates. Early days as everyone says, but can he offer more than what we have? Only time will tell
Blimey - give the dude a chance fellas, the ink on his contract is barely dry and the snipers are already taking aim ...........
