Bold words from the man in the press today. I hope our boys are fired up on Saturday and send those words back at him. We are on our way now.
According to SC, we wouldn't meet / couldn't afford his wages. Burnley have the benefit of huge parachute payments which means their income base is way in excess of ours. Maybe the guy would have joined us if the playing field was even - Bristol vs. Burnley is hardly a tough choice of places to live. Once again, the Premier League finds ways to screw everyone else.
Yet another case of the relegated getting huge payments to help them get back up, and the promoted getting nothing to aid in their attempts to join the elite. This practice has always seemed a bit of if you scratch my back then I'll scratch yours and to hell with the rest. Andre Gray is the perfect example where we were bypassed due to the bigger pool of money available at another club and that's where he chose to hang his hat - so be it. Saturday will be the perfect opportunity to show the young man how wrong his decision was, and that the fair city of Bristol would have been a much better choice.
As Loathsnyde says given the choice of two clubs you have no connection with, you will always go for the one which in your eyes can go onto better things. Whether we like it or not Burnley have more history than we do. Given the choice in all our lines of businesses we would all go with the one who offerers more and had the potential to go on to better things.
Agree Even if it means earning your corn in the hole that is Burnley when you could live in a nice city like Bristol....providing you don't own a car of course....!
OK 2 things here Firstly, everybody in Burnley shares the one car, which solves that problem Secondly, if it were just about aesthetic niceties, all footballers would play on the island of Madagascar, or some such paradise. The level of football would be horrid, but then it wouldn't matter because they would have been spared from living in the grim north Personally, if I were a rich bitch, spoilt brat, tasty young footballer, I would be on the next plane to Copacabana beach
