Anyone got an honest fair assessment of his performance today?

It was a lot better though it couldn’t really have been worse. I don’t remember him making major errors though again the opposition midfield were allowed shots in acres of space but that’s not just down to him. Nothing terrible and nothing brilliant.

One could argue we made Cardiff look **** but they really were incredibly ****. Ipswich will be a much tougher test for them all.

I thought he did ok 6 out of 10 ish. Saved us a couple of times at the back. He also tried 2 or 3 longer passes over the top aimed for Armstrong to run onto without them being quite good enough, their Keeper had to run out of his area to prevent Armstrong reaching one first.

I thought he was ok again. Rescued us right after the Kakay miss by getting back and putting a cross over our bar that could well have put Ipswich a goal up if hadn't tracked back to clear it

Wasn’t at the game but it seems odd if we were flagging to the extent we were after an hour against both Cardiff and Norwich that he didn’t bring on Duke at that point. I still think he’d offer infinitely more than Dozzell and will die on this hill.

Southampton have signed Flynn Downed from West Ham by the way. A huge test for Andre that he’s frankly not up to.

Could I have an honest Dozzell assessment from someone watching the game today please?

He was a bit ‘headless chicken’ at times, but there was one moment in the first half, right in front of me, in our half, and near our right-hand touch line, where he produced a lovely piece of skill to jink around 2-3 surrounding players, then pass to a teammate (can’t recall who) who couldn’t control it and we lost possession.

Looks like he's improving every game to me this season. Did a lot of good work at the back, put a long pass in behind them, and also Chair should of scored after Dozzell ran into their area drawing their defenders in before picking out Chair's run unmarked close in.

Given a very positive review on WSL:
Andre Dozzell: 8
His best game in a QPR shirt. Made some really strong runs from midfield and teed up Chair with a smart pass into the box that should have led to a goal.”

Well great, seems like Dozzell is decent after all and will be a key part of our surge up the league.

I thought he was **** and on that run kept the ball too long and then gave Chair an unnecessarily difficult pass. Just drifted through the game again, for me.

Yep, that’s what I see every week as well. Still, it’s touching that others are somehow detecting an improvement.

You have to wonder if he thinks he’s on the path to greatness. And whether he gets too much of the comforting arm instead of the rigid boot up the arse needed to be really effective.
If he doesn’t change his ways he will, inevitably, drift into anonymity like another Tom Carroll.

Perhaps Dozzell is the player Ainsworth is going to improve to stellar levels.

Perhaps Dozzell is on the up.

Perhaps Southampton wasn't a one match wonder?

One thing I will say for Dozzell is Duke-McKenna looked horrifically out of his depth when he came on. When everyone is fit I’d like us to play Field and Colback behind Chair behind Dykes & Sinclair.
