Two assists against Derby, which presumably pisses off Neil Warnock even more. Maybe if he played him...
Two assists vs Derby: Verified Not played vs Coventry: Verified Nine minute cameo vs Brighton: Verified Not played vs Bristol City: Verified Consider my facts checked. Comeback?
My comeback would probably hinge on the fact that Warnock wasn't our manager for any of those games you mention. His first game as Leeds manager was against Doncaster, and Townsend played all but 10 minutes of the game. After Townsend left, Warnock said he "changed the system at half time [against Doncaster] and he scores", and "he was going to play at Portsmouth". So Townsend was obviously a part of our plans. Consider your misquoted facts corrected. OK?
Warnock was in charge of Leeds for the Doncaster game: Incorrect Thanks for extra proof Neil Warnock is full of ****.
If you want to believe that, it's further proof that your "Maybe if he played him..." claim is utter ****e. As it is, Warnock gave the half-time team talk and gave instructions to Redfearn all game about how he wanted the team managed, and the formation change was his idea. If you want to be a pedant, you're still wrong. Townsend was never left out of a squad by Neil Warnock. You're wrong, sonnie.
So you're accusing your club's own website of lying now? Did Warnock pick the team or formation or tactics for the game? No. Neil Warnock never picked a squad with him in it, which is contrary to the version of events Neil Warnock was mouthing off about.
He's not injured, he's just not being selected. He's played 56 minutes of football for us in a game which he started and since then, has only been in the match day squad on one occasion. Most of us Saints fans think he'd be better off going back to Spurs to be honest - at the time in which we signed him it looked a great bit of business (especially as we were dumbstruck by injuries/suspensions) and we were all really excited about him, but he did look a little bit lightweight for the Championship. It wasn't too long after we signed Falque that Jason Puncheon, who had been caught in a rift with the Chairman and the Manager for the past 12 months, patched things up with them and came back into contention, and then we also went on to sign Tadanari Lee (A Japanese International) and Billy Sharp from Doncaster; which dented his chances at a run in the team even further. At the moment, in terms of attackers/wingers/forwards/wide players he's behind Lallana, Guly, Chaplow, Puncheon and De Ridder in the pecking order, plus the 5-sub rule in the Championship doesn't exactly make it any easier for the lad and I really can't see how he's going to get a look in, we're at that stage of the season where we can't really afford to 'experiment' and give players a chance, we need results and we need them now! What is strange though, is that a lot of us have heard that we already have a loan deal agreed for him for next season IF we make it the Premiership? It doesn't really add up considering Adkins isn't playing him now, in a division of a lesser standard, but we'll see. Anyway, good luck for the rest of the season and I hope that Yago will get some much needed game time before his return to WHL
I was surprised we signed him, to be honest. He did okay in the Europa games but I thought our clause to buy him was supposed to be around £8mill so maybe we were offered a big discount by Juve as we had 5 months left to make our minds up. He's 22 now and needs to be playing regularly, can't help but feel that Levy and Redknapp won't be happy that he's being left out.
