Chelsea are still interested in Anderlecht youngster Romelu Lukaku and the player wants to move to Stamford Bridge, according to the 18-year-old's current club. The Belgian outfit claims the change of manager at the Blues has not affected their interest in the striker and they are now awaiting on offer for their starlet. The proposed transfer seemed to have stalled amid reports the new Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas was not keen on adding the attacker to his squad. Anderlecht deny that is the case and insist the deal will go through as soon as the Blues match their £20 million valuation. Director of football Herman van Holsbeeck said: "People say the new Chelsea manager doesn't want Lukaku - but they have different information to me. "But we will only sell him if it is good for both ourselves and the player. We want serious money for him." And the Belgian side's president Roger Vanden Stock says Chelsea will have to put up the cash if the player is to move to his preferred destination. He said: "Lukaku says Chelsea are the club for him, so they will probably be the club he joins. "But they have not yet put their money on the table. They want him for as little as possible. "We'll see what happens. He will go to England in the end, but it is fine if he stays another year with us."
Seems Anderlecht have encountered AVB's transfer 'pause'. The information 'others' have that the people at Anderlecht don't seem to have is the statement by AVB regarding assessing his current squad and the cancelling of the Arnham fixture to do so.
