    http://www1.skysports.com/football/...le-for-sunderlands-jack-colback-is-hotting-up

More than half-a-dozen Premier League clubs are ready to make a contract offer to Sunderland midfielder Jack Colback.

The 24-year-old is out of contract at the Stadium of Light this summer, but Sunderland have revealed that he is set to leave after failing to agree terms.

Sky Sports understands that Colback is keeping his options open, which could yet see him staying at the Stadium of Light - should Sunderland avoid relegation.

But no matter whether Sunderland stay up or not, Colback will have a plethora of options available to him.

It is understood that a host of teams are now monitoring Colback's situation very closely, with a view to landing him on a Bosman free transfer this summer.

Everton, Hull City and Sunderland's arch-rivals Newcastle United are amongst the clubs know to be keen on Tyneside-born Colback.

Clearly shows he is rated in the EPL...especially if Everton have lodged some interest

A player reported to be on £3k a week and we offered £10k...what a joke compared to the likes of Larsson/Garder/Vaughan/Cuellars wages

That last line is no way true, there is no chance he's on 3k a week

He wanted too much, we move on. He's ok, has the odd game where he has an influence on the game, but largely he doesn't do as much as he should.

The talk was that he asked for 30k a week, parity with the likes of Bardo & Larsson, players who we refuse to offer extended terms.

The club, quite rightly, is trying to do away with over paying average players, and Jack is an average player.

Supposedly he is, if so its a joke!

I admit we shouldnt be paying over the odds, but at least explain to him what the situation is

Then possibly £15-20k with added bonuses based on performance

I would expect him to be given a fair offer, what he`s worth, bonuses, incentives all on the table.

Still want more? Still not enough?

Too greedy son, on yer bike.

    Spot on.

I actually think he would have done very well in the championship, still think it's about his level

How long has he been part of the first team set up? Surely it is possible that if he signed a contract a few years back (and I assume it is a while ago if it is now running out) before he was involved in first team action he may not be on much at all - it does happen! 3k seems pretty tight though...

Rubbish, he's a proven premiership player and will be a big miss if we lose him, he can cover a number of positions too which is very handy.

He signed a 2 year extension in 2012, no way did he sign, at 3k a week, 2 years ago, that's fantasy island bollocks.

Ok had a look at his details and it does seem unlikely he agreed 3k. He was Ipswich players player of the season when on loan 4 years ago and then made 40 appearances for the Sunderland first team in 2011-12, he would have to have the worst agent in the world to be on a tenth the likes of Seb and Gardner after that (and at 24 he's not quite as young as I thought, he's been 'on the scene' for a few years).

Think it's a case of he won't sign any contract. He refused to to go into talks in the summer, and he refused in Jan and he's knocked back any offer since. We need to accept there's nothing we could have done to keep him apart from progress which we failed to do.
