How many of the players now out on loan will be out of contract at the end of the season? I think this will be the crunch point when there is no income during the summer. Fingers crossed that find a buyer before then.
Benjani and Ricardo Rocha are both on 1 year contracts. Futacs was but Appleton said he enacted the 2nd year clause. Jamie Ashdown might also be out of contract, not sure. Etuhu is on a monthly contract. The one we need rid of is TBH - his wages are too much for the club. What kind of dickhead would sign players on premiership wages while the club is in the championship? Oh that would be the 2 previous CEOs! Ridiculous way to run a business.
Henderson now gone, as expected http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/17350578 This wont do his Euro 2012 aspirations any good
A goalkeeper playing every week is more likely to get his chance than one kicking his heels on the bench
With Robert Green out of contract at the end of the season, and West Ham likely to get promoted- next year he could be a Premier League 'keeper; which is the least a promising, young keeper should have
Our club is being asset stripped day by day and although I know there is no alternative I find it so totally depressing. I don't know whose to blame but whoever it is I actually hate them......and I rarely, if ever, use that word. I can say nothing more.
I have a genuine question on this loan deal and I'm not trying to wind anbody up. Can somebody explain to me how this is an "emergency loan" West Ham have two goalkeepers both who of whom are macth fit according to website, with their third keeper out on loan at L Orient. This system is just open to abuse as there is no emergency at present. Ta
No there is no emergency , just West Ham doing there bit to make sure Pompey see the season out and they don't get a 6 pt deduction. Probably a very nice loan settlement
Probably spot on Possum. It's in West Hams best interests to keep us going until after the 28th of April.
It's in their best interest for sure...any coincidence that Reading got Mullins in too...don't think so. But as Posh Blue Boy said. How can they get an emergency loan in when they are about as far away as possible from an emergency situation? Surely an emergency loan is only if you need the player otherwise its just an ordinary loan... It seems to me, and this is purely me speculating. But it seems it's in West Ham, Reading et al's best interest to provide Pompey with that little bit of cash injection to keep them ticking over until the end of the season. I would have thought this also goes for the Football League as I'm sure they would not want the 'hassle' of a team not being able to finish the season. Genuinely interested if anyone knows how emergency loans work, what the criteria is etc?
You're probably spot on there. I wonder if they'll hang us out to dry in the closed season though....
