Sannino ... has been sounded out and is a free agent ... Cellino knows him from Serie A and likes what he did at Watford ... been told the problem at Vicarage Road has been prima donnas in the dressing room and soft owners who didn't support Sannino when the chips were down ... will be interesting if Cellino follows through now, my Sky source says its very close, but somehow I think we'll end up hearing the usual Cellino rant ... "I think of him, but I not speak, so no he not come" or maybe "he look like a good manager but he too greedy, he want this, he want that, no he want too much, I say fcuk off back to Italy or go manage Fulham, there you can fcuk up the club completely" ... Sannino is known as a bit of a hard nut, so although he may be the right man for us and Cellino is seriuosly considering him, I don't agree with my source that he is signing up ... of course I may be wrong and Sky's info is spot on, but I have a strong suspicion that if Cellino doesn't get his man then Redders will be moved up from the Academy, and that will be criminal Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Clarke has gone to short odds in the betting and the Emanuelle guy on twitter said Cellino was keen on him. Do you reckon he's a non runner Billy
Hope Cellino doesn't follow through because that would ruin a particularly nice pair of expensive cacks........... Morning Billy..
What about one of Cellino's previous managers? He has quite a few to chose from!! Are you saying you can sort one of those for us then? Cheers for that. We'll take Allegri. Thank you kindly
I doubt he's work with Cellino ever again Cagliari[edit] On 29 May 2008, Allegri was announced as new head coach of Cagliari in the Serie A, replacing Davide Ballardini.[5] Despite a disappointing start, with five losses in the first five league matches, Allegri was confirmed by club chairman Massimo Cellino and later went on to bring his team up to a mid-table placement in December. On 9 December, following a 1–0 home win to Palermo, Cagliari announced to have agreed a two-year contract extension with Allegri, with a new contract that was set to expire on 1 June 2011. The contract was then revealed to have been signed on October, in the midst of the rossoblu's early crisis result.[6] He completed the 2008–09 season in an impressive ninth place, which was hailed as a huge result with respect to the limited resources, the lack of top-class players, and the high quality of Cagliari's attacking football style, which led the Sardinians not far from UEFA Europa League qualification. Such results led him to be awarded the Panchina d'Oro (Golden bench), a prize awarded to the best Serie A football manager according to other managers' votes. In the 2009–10 season, he managed to confirm Cagliari's high footballing levels despite the loss of regular striker Robert Acquafresca, leading an impressive number of three players from his side — namely Davide Biondini, Federico Marchetti, and Andrea Cossu — to receive Italian national team call-ups during his reign at the club. On 13 April 2010, Cellino surprisingly removed Allegri from his managerial duties despite a solid 12th place with 40 points, and youth coach Giorgio Melis — with Gianluca Festa as his assistant — was appointed at his replacement.[
Proof positive of the pulling power of Cellino. All those coaches water to work for him, add the pulling power of Leeds United, one of Englands biggest clubs with an abundance of cash and the skye the limit
Eire I've been told that Clarke wants Prem, otherwise a London club in Championship with resources to get to Prem ... that basically means Fulham when Magath goes, and it may well be soon ... surprised Clarke didn't go for the Celtic job, but that underlines his ambition to be in the Prem ... now, if Cellino actually sits down with Clarke, listens to him and gives him a lot more leeway, then I'd still think Clarke will come ... Sannino and Cellino will clash, a lot, and may already have done ... I'm still concerned over Cellino's statement that the new man will once again be an unknown surprise, but if that's the case surely this unknown would be in place already? We can only hope Cellino has received some better advice, and is rethinking his strategy ... hopefully he's looked at his squad and he's thinking he needs quality in the dugout to produce quality on the pitch and protect his investment Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Maybe Clarke will see that we could be next best thing to getting a pl club. Not many of those jobs appear in a season and he'd have to join a very long queue. With us and our resources, he could have a real crack at it. For me, Fulham are not guaranteed anything and signing our entire strike force from last season, specially Smith is a little underwhelming. Many will disagree Im sure
"The pulling power of Leeds"..............right now you've got about as much pulling power as a drag artist. "One of Englands biggest clubs"........Fck me guys - you still living in the past? "with an abundance of cash"........ You've got fck all cash - Cellino has some but there are no significant signs of him using it. "the skye the limit"......aye, that's about it - the Isle of Skye league and you'd have a chance...... (no offence like...........
Since you guys need cheering up, here's something to help. Two quotes from the media.... (though not in same season - but recently) 1) The recent success of the club and upward trajectory have enabled the board to commit to building a new stand. 2) The sorry state of the finances and team position meant we have had to shut the upper tier, and save the rates that we would otherwise have had to be paid. One club has average attendance (last season) of 15000, the other of 25000. Guess the clubs and which way round the attendances refer ? Yup - the attendances at LUFC do much credit to the loyalty and devotion of the supporters.
I really do think that if Cellino pushes the boat out and gets Clarke in he will not live to regret it. I don't mind the idea of Sannino as at the very least he has championship experience but he isn't the best option out there if we're honest. I still can't understand the logic of spending as much as you do on players and then nothing on a coach. If he really is serious about wanting Leeds to be a club competing at the top again, I do think he'll have to swallow his pride and let people that actually know what there doing to have an input. A few more managers like Hockaday and he will lose the support of the fans regardless of how much money he puts into the club, it has to happen on the pitch as well.
Somehow don't think we'll end up with Hock mark 2 Josh. I would hope that he would have learned his lesson. I also think h now understands the difference in team support between a few thousand acked off Caliagri fans when he kept sacking managers & 25 to 30,000 pi^^ed off Yorkshiremen when we're playing less than wonderous footy with a Manager who was never on to a winner from the start.
Irishmen are just Yorkshiremen wannabees with a better understanding of what constitutes a proper pint Shaks.
