Mark Yeates is rumoured to be going back to Colchester on a free and Buaben is rumoured to be off too. I almost love this time of the year. Who will stay, who will go...rumours, facts, factual rumours! All good fun. Enjoy the ride, it should be a good one!
I would drive Yeates there if they pay the petrol. I have not been a fan of his, ever since he said he liked to take free kicks but scored the solitary 1 in the whole season.
You've only offered to drive him because you've heard about those Essex blondes! We can see through your games!
I do believe Dan, he scored 2 . He's had moments of greatness this season...it's been his best season with us for sure, but yep, time to move on
He's been at best a fringe player, so best for both parties if he moves on, same for Bauben. Any player who has not regularly made the first team squad will be rumoured to move on, and good luck to them if/when they do. It will be interesting to see which of the youngsters we will give a chance to - the likes of Britt, Hodson etc.
Have to admit I've always been a bit Underwhelmed by Yeates. From today's Times: Watford will need to request permission from the Football League each time they want to sign a player because of the transfer embargo placed on the club for financial misconduct The embargo ends when the transfer window closes on August 31. They are also unlikely to be able to re-sign Matej Vydra, the Czech Republic striker who scored 22 goals and was voted player of the year in the Championship. The piece is still not quite right, but better than the 'ban' they were reporting on Monday. However no explanation is offered as to why we are 'unlikely to be able to re-sign Matej Vydra'.
The first season he was here he scored the 1 which was against reading and he was the regular/first choice FK taker that season. Abdi however hasnt been first choice taker for this entire season, yet has scored at least 2.
though...it does make me laugh when Yeates steps up to take a free kick with Abdi on the pitch...what is he thinking?!
Maybe this is the explanation? http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...4/Matej-Vydra-seeks-talks-Watford-owners.html Or, hopefully, it's just that pratt Samuels causing mischief with rumours.......
Mischief, if you were a 22yo striker having tailed off but coached by one of the greatest forward talents of the past 30 years who can finish your development with chance to prove you can last a season what would you do?
Yep, Yeates has had a good season, I dont recall/cant remember even one poor performance by him this season. 2 or 3 direct free-kicks that he scored which was nice to see. Average wide midfield player. Decent central midfielder.
I think Yeates has improved this season, but still only see him as a fringe player and bench warmer. There have been some good games from him when he has played, but somehow I can never see him as the first name on the team sheet.
In other words no matter how well he plays or how hard he works he's never going to be a regular. He'd be better off leaving us in that case, but he is very much good enough to join another CHampionship club so should turn down Colchester.
I thought that he showed loads of promise last season, but just not sure about him fitting in. http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/10449916.Hodson_open_to_Watford_stay/ Any thoughts?
I agree with you Mitch that he is good enough to play in the Championship, he maybe should stay with us and fill in as required. From what I have seen he is a work horse, but doesn't have too much flair. Think we will always see different things in players that we like or don't, so probably what is seen on the training ground by the staff is more important than what we think.
I think that with Hodson and any other players who have been out on loan that Zola will give them a pre season to see how they have come on, before making any decisions. The same would apply to Mingoia and Thompson. Also excited to see if Assombalonga goes out on loan again or starts coming onto the fringes of the first team.
