Same again for me mate, Mig is a top keeper so if we are to show him or any future players any sort of ambition we have to hold onto our top players.
http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/simon-mignolet-respect-sunderland-contract-4281245 Simon Mignolet's agent has dropped a hint the goalkeeper will stay at Sunderland in the near future. But as numerous clubs begin to circle the Stadium of Light in preparation for making a bid for the Belgian, it is growing increasingly difficult to see the club keeping their prized asset. The Italian press once again yesterday reported that a swap deal between Napoli and Sunderland could take place with Mignolet being replaced by Morgan De Sanctis, one of Serie A’s best keepers. We understand that former Newcastle player Fraser Forster has jumped a few places on the list of possible replacements for Mignolet (left) who would fetch a fee of close to 10million. Nico Vaesen has been widely quoted last week as Mignolet’s representative and he claimed it was “unlikely” the 24-year-old would remain on Wearside after this summer. But agent Guy Vandersmissen insisted he was the only one who would make any deal and while there were clubs interested, his player would respect his contract. But he repeated his belief that last season’s Player of the Year would move sooner rather than later. Speaking to ESPN, he said: “I am the representative of Simon Mignolet. Simon is my player. I’ve been working with Simon since he was 16 years old. At this moment there are some clubs who are interested. “For a lot of players there are some clubs interested but Simon still has a two-year contract in Sunderland, so we depend on the position that Sunderland is taking in relationship to an eventual transfer of Simon Mignolet. “There is a contract so we have to respect the contract. “But I don’t think at this moment we would be prepared to sign a new contract. When there is a new contract the team can block a player [from moving]. “There is another two years on his contract, if they want us to stick to that, we will stick to that and perhaps leave after two years if there is an interest in Simon.” “Should they say now we are prepared to discuss [a new contract in two years] we must be prepared to discuss the option. “If they want to make a proposal to Simon, they should come up with a decent proposal and we will then have a look at it. “I would say four or five months ago we talked but the situation for Sunderland was not that good. “It was not clear that they would have enough quality to stay in the Premiership so it was not the right moment to discuss or sign a new contract because we didn’t want to start up in the Championship next season.”
Poxy agents .Sounds like the advice he will be giving to the mig is ........ It is in my best interest that you move on to another club . or words to that effect
tHAnk **** FOr tthat .iiI THOUGHt it was just me lolo LOL its a bugger when you forget the block capitals are still on
You know, I can't help thinking all this is boiling down to the buyout clause. Negotiation can only be in the early stages if they've even started at all, Mig will still be on holiday. 1 year extension to his current 2 with a 15m-17.5m buyout I think is fair on both parties.
Thats a hefty buy out claus for a keeper . Wouldnt want him to go for any less than the figures you have there though .
it's about balance mate, if we offer 20m+ buy out clause he's gonna see it as we're pricing him out for a move and he's going to walk. We don't want to take the pitiful 10m that has been branded about, it's too low. One thing's for certain and that's he's leaving Sunderland sooner or later. I'd rather it be later with a tidy profit.
Looks like he's staying The Black Cats goalkeeper has been linked with a move away from the Stadium of Light this summer with a host of clubs interested in the Belgium international. But Mignolet's agent Guy Vandersmissen admits that the decision rests with Sunderland as the 24-year-old has two years remaining on his current deal. Vandersmissen told ESPN: At this moment there are some clubs who are interested but Simon still has a two-year contract so we depend on the position that Sunderland is taking in relation to an eventual transfer. "There is a contract so we have to respect the contract. But I don't think at this moment we would be prepared to sign a new contract. When there is a new contract the team can block a player. "There are another two years on his contract, if they want us to stick to that, we will stick to that and perhaps leave after two years if there is an interest in Simon." Guy Vandersmissen "There are another two years on his contract, if they want us to stick to that, we will stick to that and perhaps leave after two years if there is an interest in Simon." Despite those comments, Vandersmissen has also left the door open to a contract extension at some point in the future - if Sunderland's situation improves. He added: "If they want to make a proposal to Simon, they should come up with a decent proposal and we will then have a look at it. "I would say four or five months ago we talked but the situation for Sunderland was not that good. "It was not clear that they would have enough quality to stay in the Premiership so it was not the right moment to discuss or sign a new contract because we didn't want to start up in the Championship next season."
