Completely behind the supporters of Ray Davies and The Kinks. The man is an absolute genius. His music is so quintessentially British in the way the Beatles and the Stones could never have been. This would explain why I absolutely love the Jam, XTC, Squeeze and Blur too. On the hard rock, heavy metal side, I would have to say: Whitesnake (pre-1987), AC/DC (with Bon), King's X, Alice In Chains, Soundgarden, Metallica (pre-St. Anger), Michael Monroe, The Wildhearts and any **** like that really. I can not stand all this R&B, X Factor warbly-warbly ****. Awful.
