It came before my time, but the video and photos are absolutely harrowing, never again Rip to those who went to see their teams trophy celebrations and never came home
Reading some of the recollections of people there on that day still brings a lump to my throat. There but for the grace of God...
I knew someone who was in that stand on the day. By sheer good fortune he was at the front and got out onto the pitch without any harm. I was a bit too young to realise the horror of it at the time but the footage of it I've seen since is amongst the most awful things I could imagine, knowing that 56 people died. RIP.
Before I was born but as with all tragedies it is important that we never forget. RIP to those who never came home.
i was 10 at the time and football was my world, playing it and watching it. this absolutely devastated me. RIP
I remember that day well. Was at Griffin Park watching City away to Brentford. We were already promoted so not a lot to play for and everyone was in party mood. There was some vague news about the game at Bradford being delayed but it was only when we got back to the hotel room we knew the full extent of what happened. Terrible day.
I was in the RAF at the time. Some little **** (Sheffield United fan) was dancing around the NAAFI bar while it was been shown on the 10 o'clock news singing "burn you bastards, burn". Shall we say he attacked a pool que with his teeth and face. Amazing that the place was full of Raf coppers on the piss and not one person saw what happened.
It was a terrible event that was unfolding live on TV. The memories of family and friends of those who perished will still daunt them today. R I P
A tragic event indeed, RIP to those who never came home, the ones following instructions not to run onto the pitch only to find the exits locked for the sake of revenue protection.
