    Thank god that it's the ground in Portugal....if it had been the proper Stadium of Light,I wouldn't have known what to think.....Bruce in,Bruce out???What else could that headline mean???

    agreed fantastic stadium

    shame we don't have the same quality of players playing for the home side at our Stadium of Light that they have over there

    How come the Estadio da Luz gets translated into English? We don't call the Camp Nou- the New Ground, the Stade de France- the Stadium of France/French Stadium.

    As far as I'm aware, Luz is an area of Lisbon the stadium is named after. Similar to the San Siro name being coined from the San Siro area of Milan. But we don't call the San Siro the Saint [Whatever Siro is in English].

    There is only one SoL.

    Estadio De La Luz literally translates to 'Stadium Of The Light'.

    Luz is an area of Lisbon, i believe, but the word luz is light in Portuguese and Spanish.

    I stand by to be corrected, but i'm 99% on this.

    Wigan's ground translates to 'the stadium of empty seats', during cup games.
