20 Feb 2012 The Guardian Portsmouth Administrator faces a complaint over 'conflict of interest'.

Andrew Andronikou has complained to the Institute of Chartered Accountants for England & Wales over the appointment of Trevor Birch as Administrator for PFC. Birch's firm PKF carried out due diligence for CSI, analysing Portsmouth's parlous financial position, before Antonov bought the club from the Hong Kong businessman, Balram Chainrai. PKF was then appointed auditor to Portsmouth after the takeover. Full story at http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2012/feb/20/portsmouth-administrator-conflict

Well Admin Andy seems to be throwing his toys out of his pram......... (he looks quite petulant in the photo accompanying the article)

Trevor Birch - not quite as independent as he seemed. Hey ho!

You must be pissed off watching from the sidelines as these idiots slowly destroy your club.

In fighting at board level stops anything constructive being done to rescue you and raises suspicion that Chanrai and AA have something to hide.

I don't know about slowly Godders.

Apparently Birch says he will have a duty to examine the validity of the mortgage/debenture that Chanrai has over the club. It's one of the reasons that buyers are thin on the ground - that debenture is too high for the value of the club - and the land that all you lot like to call Falling Down Park, which incidentally I like to think of as quaint - can only be worth about half that amount.

They're picking at the carcass now - we don't have much else left.

Dare I say it, bare bones.

We are well rid of this guy, I think the new chap has to be better, he couldn't be worse.

There is definitely something dodgy (note to self : avoid fishy) between BC and Admin Andy! They are desparate to keep things hidden, and this attempt by UHY to cling on to this job seems like the last roll of the dice for them. I don't know too much about Birch, but the fact that he is going to investigate the legality of the charge against Fratton Park (note to self: avoid calling it fallingdown park) seems the fans best chance to discover at least some of the truth. Without this charge from BC, and perhaps the rest of the land surrounding the ground being seized back, then the club will become a more saleable asset.

Best of luck in keeping Birch!

AA suggesting a conflict of interest is a case of the pot calling the kettle black, even if he is right. I don't think his appeal will be upheld but, if it is, they will need to appoint someone other than UHY otherwise the same accusation can be levelled. Only at Portsmouth.

As an administrator Birch's main priority is to see that the creditors get as much money back as possible.

If he feels the best way of doing this is liquidating Pompey then I think he would.

He will treat it aaa any other business which is how football clubs should be treated.

    Time will tell...

....I think if anything points towards BC and AA hiding something....

.....How in gods name can AA say that TB has conflicting interests? As LFIH has said above - its like the pot calling the kettle black!

I think AA and BC have gidden something, something that they do not want to be revealed that will hopefully see their web of lies and deceit be untangled.

We, as fans, need someone to blame for this mess.

Not more frustrating news emerging from FP ?!

I do think however that Trevor Birch will act more openly than AA, dare I say it, more honestly, and at a quicker pace.

The way things are going they may as well appoint Terry F**kwitt and Suicidal Syd as joint administrators. With Postman Plod delivering all the good news to the mail room of course <steam>

Birch has already ticked the right boxes - he is talking to us, the fans, he is working quickly and as you have said Woopert - honestly.

He is speaking the truth - we are no where near out of trouble yet - and we could still face liquidation - yet I for one would be happy with whatever outcome as long as the truth prevails and us as fans can understand how a club that has seen half a billion £ pass through it can be in so much trouble.

Soon, this web will be big enough to make silk jim jams for the whole team.
After the stress he went through last time you would think AA would run a mile at the idea of being appointed again.
I guess he thinks if he stirs long enough, he can prevent the crap from floating to the top.
Hopefully Birch will be left in place and can finally uncover just what the hell has gone on at our beloved club!

Trevor Birch seem like a reasonable and professional man.

You are in much safer hands with him controlling the club than DL or AA.

    <ok>

DL and AA both just seem like BC's people, put in to protect his interests. BC owning Fratton Park and SG owning surrounding land are major obstacles for anyone looking to buy the club

Why hasn't a criminal investigation been launched?

The only way your club can come out of this and move forward without the stench of corruption is to start again a la Wimbeldon / Aldershot.

You should also hand back the FA Cup you won by cheating financially. <ok>

    That is all. Good luck

Did you seriously just write the above?

Please go away, research the situation and then come back with your "opinion" because currently you are so far away from the mark.

    Thanks Saintsalive.

As you have pointed out - don't bite the hand thats feeds you - TB is probably the best "signing" for PFC in reacent times - I know I may be speaking for everyone, but all we want is the truth as to how and who have ruined our once great club.

I did just type the above but not seriously.

You lot need to lighten up, the worst has already happened.

Virtually all other fans realise that you as a club have been used and abused. Nobody blames the fans. At the very least expect some piss taking..!
