According to two twitter users a first 11 player was openly discussing the backroom problems at a nightclub over the weekend.

There is a big gulf between Scally and MA, Scally has supposedly been playing hardball over money and contracts to back Allen into a corner and leaving without Scally having to sack him and pay out.

Whether this is true or not these rumours becoming more regular and more detailed can't be good, the fans are restless and players/staff do pick up on these rumours.

Dangerous times, perhaps if there is a real problem it is time for Scally to put his hand in his pocket and push MA.

I like MA, I think he could take us forward but no team does well with these problems at the top. I would rather it is nipped in the bud than some horrible legal trudge a la Pullis.

Strangely despite my own opinions on the MA and Scally debate, whereas mine is mainly based around the Chairman keeping his cheque booked closed. The media must be having quite some influence or the comments attached to reports. Her indoors mentioned the Gills last night, which not being a Gills fan is a rare occurrence for her to comment. But she believes Scally needs be supporting MadDog! Erm...dilemma is her indoors right after all. Although the last time she expressed a view on football, she did predict Burton to get promoted last season...lol

I don't really trust twitter sources, unless I actually know the poster.

But the while the story does fit what we are looking at from the outside, one question remains unanswered: Why would Scally want to push out the manager who brought the club's first trophy in decades?

Just what I was thinking, only you got there a day and a half before me.

Memo to self - look at message board more frequently.

cant see why scally would want to push him out now as tha twould pretty much seal our fate. if MA went we would be relegated before any new manager could steady the ship. or build a new one. its in both their best interests ( and ours ) that everyone works together to get the season back on track.

I would love everything to be rosy in the garden, but lets face its not! It doesnt wash with me the argument that its just a case of half the squad is not good enough for league 1. We beat Championships teams last yr! I would love to be shot down in flames and proved wrong, but i have heard from many different people that all is not well within the club and that Allen would be gone by xmas, thats not to say that is what i want, just what i have heard from more than one person. Do you really think putting some of our better players on the transfer list is good management for a squads morale!

I think you are right Jay, clearly not all is well at the club. But if the rumours are true, and Scally has had Taylor waiting in the wings to take over, it suggests that it has nothing to with the results and Allen's card was marked from the start of the season. So what I find confusing is why / when Allen and Scally fell out as it would be extremely short sighted of Scally to force out the most successful manager we have had at the club in decades.
