Jack Grimmer and Larnell Cole helped their Shrewbury side to a shock win away to Cardiff.

"Cardiff City suffered an embarrassing third-round FA Cup exit as they were beaten by League One side Shrewsbury in front of a sparsely-populated crowd. The hosts shaded a turgid goalless first half at Cardiff City stadium with Sammy Ameobi hitting the post. Although the Bluebirds continued to control possession, Andy Mangan headed Shrewsbury in front after an hour.

Federico Macheda and Stuart O'Keefe then wasted chances for Cardiff as the Shrews - 20th in League One - held on."

That was 7 minutes into extra time and it was the winner. Shrewsbury beating Sheffield Wednesday 3-2.

A kind of bitter sweet revenge and if we weren't before, we know who now to support in the Cup. Well done the Shrews.

Can our other lads on loan 'do a Bodurov' over Man Utd in the 6th round tie on Monday night? Ridiculous scheduling just to fit United into the TV bun fight but guess Shrewsbury won't complain about the quarter of a million quid they'll get for it being shown live. Or the extra £180k they'll get for a win.

The good news is that both guys are fit to play.

"Shrewsbury Town have been handed a double boost ahead of the FA Cup fifth-round visit of Manchester United with the news that midfielder Larnell Cole and defender Jack Grimmer are both fit for the tie at New Meadow. Manager Micky Mellon has no injury concerns for the match on 22 February, which sees the lowest-ranked team left in the competition face the 11-time winners.

Grimmer, currently on loan from Fulham, scored the 97th-minute winner that saw off Sheffield Wednesday in round four and set up a game against his boyhood club. Cole, also in the midst of a spell away from Craven Cottage, is a former academy graduate at United and is in line to face his former club after taking part in training this week.

Think the Shrews were a little over awed tonight. Not all of them all of the time ...

Late on our Jack and Larnell Cole (who came on at half time) created chances but unfortunately too little too late.

I wonder what his mum thought about him getting a tattoo on his arm! She probably went nuts, 'wasting your money on stuff like that'.
