What a fantastic display after just a couple of training sessions by king monk and his crew, We looked and played with confidence and for the first time this season we had our usual majority of the play but this time we had more shots on target than the opposition. we could easily have scored more than 3....This is Swansea city football and not that laudrup rubbish. Im so proud of monk as he was as much involved urging his players on like any good manager would do so thank you Garry and the fans appreciated it also as they gave you a standing ovation...We have shot up to 10th and 6 points ahead of cardiff who i think are doomed to relegation. Ole could not match old boy monks game plan in a million years and mad tan will be a very worried man tonight.....The atmosphere was electric, the players were smiling and the fans went home very happy knowing we have our football back.....great day..
You always stated Laudrups team was Brendans team. So following your twisted logic.......... We all know that in a few weeks time you'll be slating off Monk, so your opinion is irrelevant on this board.
nothing wrong with my post other than pointing out the different styles in football where one works and one don't....Try and be a bit humble yourselves slagging of monk and saying laudrup was doing a good job...If laudrup was in charge today we would have lost..
The serious work starts now, but a great platform for Monk to build on, I'm looking forward to some back to back wins, great game today, players played like we know they could, upwards and onwards, well done Garry Monk, looks like a manager in the making!................. I take it your happy Dai!......................
I also liked the post match interview on sky very good explained that they had worked on the passing of pablo most of the week and bony reaction after the goal seemed like he was saying I want to stay here.
In fairness guys, Dai took some harsh stick re Laudrup - he was proved correct. In my humble opinion he deserves his day in the sun. Moving on - anyone else feel we got our team/club back today?
Glad we won. There was an urgency to our play.. but the style was no different from under Laudrup.. would not expect to be in 3 days. Will never know how the team would have played in the home derby under Laudrup. In fact the first was very similar to many home this season.. dominant but no goal. First goal came from an hernadez, Laudrup style though pass. If Monk gets the team playing with confidence and passion then I will be happy.. but however poor some people believe laudrup to be I can't agree with the way he appears to have been dealt with. Perhaps disharmony was caused by disgruntled senior players. Anyway good first game for Monk, if he can some steal to laudrup style I will be very happy.
Dai never got his abuse about his views on Laudrup, it was how he spoke to others who disagreed with his views that caused the abuse, calling them plastics, not as good a fan as him and all sorts, the belittling attitude of Dai us what caused the insults. so please lets not give Dai his day in the sun.
Good post Neath. Excellent observations. The first half was the usual business .... owned possession but with minimal penetration in the final third, and the obligatory WTF chances to the opposition in our own box ... despite the noticeable addition of gestures and shouts from the technical area (sorry couldn't resist). Pablo for Emnes changed things for the second half. A million pound pass to send in Routledge for the first goal .... very Laudrupesque from a Laudrup Lad. It all got better from there. Pablo again broke forward to feed Routledge for the cross into Dyer for the second. Pablo popped over the free-kick for Bony's goal, which BTW was a cracking climb and header (Cardiff had Caulker marking somebody else .... why?). I think I am more relieved than happy ... happy tomorrow and for the rest of the week ... it could have gone anyway today. It went our way and it really needed to - a must win if ever there was one, not because of Cardiff, but because we needed to bag the points. Beating Cardiff is a bonus .
Not sure I am in complete agreement. I felt we played a wider game with wingers out wide. As we haven't done that for a while, not surprised it took a while to bed in.
