With the way things are starting to turn against him in Madrid, it wouldn't surprise me if he is available in the summer. As the powers that be in Madrid are fairly ruthless to any manager who loses home and away to Barca, and is likely to finish behind them in the league after another defeat to Seville the other night. If Moyes is sacked, then I'd be happy with Ancellotti as I think he's the type of manager that our players would get on with. An older manager, with plenty of experience, similar to SAF
The other benefit of Ancelotti is the way he can balance a good defence which can also be very attacking in terms of its fullbacks, as well as the general expansive nature of the way his teams play - particularly AC Milan who were just a joy to watch. The only mild exception to this was Chelsea but that says more about the club's DNA (workmanlike), whereas our makeup is suited to Ancelotti's style. He is probably the most natural successor to Fergie there is out there.
I hope he does join, then you lot won't take the piss out of us like you've been doing for the past few months.
As far as i am concerned moyes is the issue so anyone but him is an advantage. This doesnt mean I was just any managet but that few if any would be as bad as moyes. Moyes thinks we are playing fine, that we dont need to change the style and that anyone who thinks we crossed to often v Fulham doesn't know about football. Moyes thinks hes exactly what united need. Ive not made any of the above up. Thats whar dave genuinely thinks. He sees no issue and blames Fergie. So anyone would be of more benefit to the club.
What banner? And yes I look for your result before ours all the time, honest We arent worried about teams in mid table now, we just have to concentrate on top 4
Now you're just going to the extreme imo. Anyone but Moyes would not be an advantage. With the greatest respect thats a ridiculous statement. This isn't about Moyes, it's about the club. Just having anyone bcos they're not Moyes could result in exactly the same position we're in now. IF (and I'm not saying we should) we sack moyes, it's absolutely imperative we ensure we get it right next time otherwise what's the point.
I quite clearly said not just any manager. As I said, for me the issue is moyes. Not Fergie, not the players and not the glazers. Im not saying moyes 100% at fault but that hes is the issue. He just doesn't fit in. We have no time for second best, almost, maybe next time. That what moyes is. A taking part that counts sort of guy. Everything wrong with a football manager at elite level. Out of interest, without using ifs, buts maybes or because Fergie chose him, why wouldnt you sack moyes. It would be interesting if one of tge pro moyes group would give a reason why as of yet, not one has ever been provided. Assuming you are pro moyes of course.
I'm a little old school UIR, it's not about Moyes, it's about the position. He IS the manager. You back the manager. It's as simple as that. That doesn't mean you don't criticise him when he gets things wrong. Nowt wrong in that, I'm sure we've all criticised Fergie in the past also. But that doesn't mean I want him sacked.
