Due to work commitments and finances I donât get to get to go to games as often as many on this forum. Iâm sitting here looking at my ticket for the Everton match and, for the first time ever, Iâm not excited about going to Loftus Road. Even during previous relegation laden seasons I have gone to the ground in hope, believing that we will win or at worst go down fighting. I can see no result other than a defeat next Saturday. What can Hughes do in the coming week that is going to get the team to play with passion, desire and pride that is clearly lacking? He doesnât strike me as an inspirational manager in the way that Ollie was. I canât see a trip down to the local cafe for a mug of tea and bacon sandwich to air their views sorting the current team out. I do think that he needs to do something outside of the standard Mark Hughes play book though, extra session on how to defend will not give the team what they really need. He could do worse than turning to Marc Bircham for some help. His passion for Q.P.R. could rekindle some long forgotten memories within some of our mercenaries. Whatever Hughes chooses, he needs to lift the team not grind them into the dirt with training drills.
Ive already decided Im not going as I cant handle the likely 4 hour journey back after watching that shower of ****e.
Know what you mean Roller. As usual I'll wait for Col's report before expressing my current opinions.
