I agree with the sentiment. RVP showed a total lack of respect in the way he went about this. He virtually spat in AW's face, pissed on Giroud & Podolski and smeared his crap in the faces of the fans. I liked the DB quote at the end
Reading Twitter, other Blogs or listening to fans phoning radio stations it would appear that RVP has pissed on his chips with the majority of Arsenal fans. It's a ****ing shame but that would appear to be the way the wind is blowing
I agree with the sentiment of the letter. RVP has acted like a spoilt little prick, but that said, he is still our best player and we can't go on selling our best players each year. The club should keep him to his contract and make him honour his commitment to us. p.s. Had to have a little snigger at HotFlush's rant
^^^To be honest guys you all just sound bitter^^^ I dont see what Van Persie has done wrong! A world class player deserves to play for a club that is pushing to win trophies. WE ARE NOT. He's a World Class player and i'm sure like all top players he has dreamed of winning the Champions League etc.. It's Arsenals board that arnt showing any ambition(we've been a little better this Summer though) and its Arsenals board we should be directing our anger towards. Usmanov was actually spot on. RVP is unhappy with the way things are at the club as are the vast majority of Arsenal fans. IF THE BOARD ARE NOT WILLING TO AT LEAST TRY AND COMPETE WITH THE OTHER BIG CLUBS THEN WHY HANG AROUND? The board need to convince him to stay and show some ****ing ambition.
He wanted us to sign messi, and invent a time machine so we could bring back a 21 year old pele and sign him to, now that would be ambition
@thebear The reason he has given is fair enough and I thunk the loyalty thing is stupid. Are you really telling me if a bid of 15mn plus came for rvp when he was injured we wouldn't sell? The issue is the way he has done it. He wants to leave fine let a bid come in and go then publish an article as to why. The fact he did it before he left has killed the asking price we can have and basically screwed the club over. That's is what I have issue with not the fact he wants yo leave.
If you were Van Persie and you were looking to sign the last big contract of your career - would you want to do it at a club that may well end up selling their best players (Wilshere, Oxo, Vermaelen etc..) if a big offer comes in? I'm betting (and this is purely hypothetical) he wanted assurances that we would keep our best players but the board were not willing to give them to him.
Arsenal would definitely not sell SJW19 who is a die-hard Gunner and wants to retire with Arsenal, OXO who still has a lot of year left on his contract, and Verminator who said he wants to stay with Arsenal forever
I thought it was very well written, I praised the guy that wrote it. I've never liked RVP as a person though. There's just something about his character that I've never liked but his behaviour v Newcastle and Wolves last season proved it. I think your better off without IMO, don't think you'll do as badly as some predict without him
I refuse to believe that is what District is on about when he talked about the Wolves game. He can't be that stupid. Only Adrian Durham is.
