    Fabricio Coloccini of Newcaslte

Dear Fabricio Coloccini, players and staff.

I’ve never been backward in going forward when it comes to an opinion and I know that you might not always agree with my views as an ex-player.

But the club and people you are representing are on their knees at the moment.

I don’t know about you but when I used to pull on the black and white shirt and look at the badge I could feel the hairs stand up on the back of my neck, and my heart used to skip a beat.

That was just pulling on the shirt by the way, imagine how I felt when I scored a goal at St James’ Park.

Actually, it still gives me a tingle now thinking about it.

Right now, I have never known the fans to be so low since probably 2009 when they were relegated at Villa Park.

That can’t happen again; but you – the players – are the only ones that can stop that from happening again.

You look disharmonious when I watch you lads play at the moment.

For me Fabricio, you have never led by example all season.

Especially the times when you were sent off and some of the shambolic performances.

The players have underperformed in the second half of the season, and of course the first few games.

It’s not like you are bad players if you have beaten Chelsea is it?

So is the problem down to effort?

This Saturday against West Brom you OWE the fans that have backed you all season a massive performance.

It is not just about the fans getting behind you, it is you the players that have to give the crowd something to feed from and something to cheer.

It’s such a long time ago since that happened.

NUFC fans protest against Mike Ashley

Please play this game as if it is the last you are going to play.

And give the fans what they deserve.

It is they who have to pay for their season tickets and save up to watch you.

You can’t take them from granted.

Earn three points on Saturday and you can walk out of the exit at the ground – for once – without your headphones or iPod on.

You can hold your head high.

Not have your head down and be embarrassed about another defeat.

Give this city something to shout about.

Make sure that on Saturday the very least the fans are celebrating is Premier League survival.

Now is the time to show you care.

    Best luck and best wishes

    Micky Quinn

Have always loved Quinny. A real old school player with a totally genuine love for our club.

Have no allusions - this fat **** doesn't give a **** about Newcastle, but the easily fooled will lap it up. He's just pandering to the fans and earning a bob or two in the process. He's full of **** and needs to go back to mistreating his horses.

And are we supposed to believe he wrote this? 'Disharmonious'? He wouldn't even know what it means let alone how to spell it. Then again, I doubt he even knows how to write.

I don't really care who wrote it, or what their motive is, the fact is it's bang on!

Mate, I have heard Quinn on Talksh1te, that sounds accurate to me. I'd call bluff if he mentioned the deeper problems.

    Must be Open letter Season
Nothing wrong with the letter, and like Obi says 'bang on'.

and I like Micky Quinn - maybe the dimwits playing up front could learn a thing or two from him on how to put the ball in the NET.<ok>

    Well said by Quinny.

I hope this bit is just a typo and he didn't really say this :-

"You can’t take them from granted" - typical thick scouse **** ;-)

Joking aside tho, it's nice to see some sort of response published, I doubt any letter that your normal joe public fan could pen would get past the profanity check at the moment so its good to see something made public that hopefully someone in the club will cast a beadie over and blow it up onto A0 paper and pin up in the dressing room ahead of Saturdays game.

What is quite clear is that despite our feelings, for 90+ minutes we need to make as much positive noise in the ground directed at whoever is out on the green stuff and hope that it works. I would love to see the half time interval be nothing more than EVERYONE staying in their seats (i.e. not buying pies, beers etc) and directing verbal abuse towards the FCB before getting 'back on it' when the players emerge from the tunnel for the 2nd half.

Regardless of how **** they have been, and utterly abhorrent if I'm honest and totally devoid of any basic skills that are required these days to be a premierleague footballer they are the only ones that can do anything about it when they are out on the pitch. Relegation is the worst possible scenario - if anyone thinks it will make one jot of difference as to whether or not ashley stays or goes, or carver stays or goes then think again. We will be ****ED !

Mind you, Rolando Aarons (if he can stay fit) will tear everyone a new arsehole in the championship and when we get promoted again next year the bin dippers will most likely want to buy him off us for £50m - now that I can see Ashley sticking around for :)

The half time protest is a great idea. Unfortunately I don't think you will get Obi and ACS missing their half-time pies and Boro Gully will definitely not forego his champagne drunk out of a naked girls belly button (apparently that's what happens in the executive boxes).

I think I'll write an open letter.

I not a big fan of Quinn. As a horse racing fan, the charge in 2001 still rankles me. He is right on this occasion though. I've lost respect for the players personally, I just can't stand people who throw the towel in.

We have pie runners now mate.
They sprint around with one of Fat Mike's pies so we don't need to get our fat arses out of our cheap seats.

" Drinking champagne out of belly buttons ".......<yikes>

I've seen the birds in his box, there's not a man alive that could drink that much champagne.

Depends who gets there first. Apparently that classic "Who ate all the pies" was first aired by a hungry Toon supporter who was unfortunately behind Obi in the half-time queue.

So that's why you are so keen to take your son. Now lad its a custom at half-time for all sons to fetch a pie for their Dad at half-time so I can shout abuse at Fat Mike.

Same here. I was in the bar at Wolverhampton's Dunstall Park one afternoon and he arrived to stand next to me. I had to leave the building.

I have no time for him.

Think it's a good comeback personally, just hope we put in the performance required to get 3 points on Saturday. Can't see it though think we'll lose 2-0.
