http://www.walesonline.co.uk/news/w...faith-in-bluebirds-youngsters-91466-29021665/ PS: The comments on the article make for the most interesting.
While making some valid comments about the updated squad and DJ's underuse of youngsters, this report smacks of sour grapes by this media outlet and is also somewhat gutless making snide comments about DJ 2 months after he left. The supporters' comments on WOL after the article are all very relevant. As one said, would this reporter (or Jackanory presenter) have the balls to say such things to DJ's face? Also, comparing Matthews to Naylor shows the reporter's lack of understanding of football as Matthews is a right back or right midfield player and Naylor claims to be a left back. To my knowledge Naylor never played on the right and I have not seen Matthews play on the left. To say Naylor was selected instead of Matthews is utter rubbish. Yes, we know DJ had to go in the end and it was the best move for the club, and I hope DJ when he gets another job. However, this muppett seems to think he is clever in inventing and repeating the Devon Loch reference when, while not achieving the main ambition of getting us to the Prem, DJ moved the club forward in so many ways in his 6 years. If this reporter thinks he will get WOL some of the NOTW readership by making such crass statements then he is sadly mistaken.
Devon Loch was a horse in the Grand National some time back, that was well in front and collapsed near the finishing post, and was past by other horses.
They are just a horrible bunch of bztards who have nothing positve to write about when it comes to our club. They are a mirror image of the NOTW(deceased) scumbags who will one day push the boundaries to far and be stopped in their tracks.
Thanks SB. Now it's linked to the reacing word I understand the reference. Couldn't understand why he would talk about a scotish lake in a southern county. Agree that the vitriol is unwarrented. If we'd been in mid table all season and missed the playoffs on the last day of the season, would he have been better thought of? As they say, 'tis better to have loved and lost.....
and what if they flop on match day, then these same journos would have slated DJ for throwing youngsters in at the deep end when they werent ready, you cant win with these people. DJ's job last season was to get us promoted, he couldnt afford to take chances on inexperienced players who may or may not have been good enough. the whole tone of that article stinks to be honest, it crosses the line by openly mocking DJ - sure, he didnt use youth as much as he should have but still, no need to kick a man when he's down
The clowns at WOL have no idea of what the ordinary City fan thinks. They put themselves up on pedestals and don't realise they are being shot down from all directions. I always thought local papers should be the barometers of local opinion. It seems to work that way with the Argus in Newport so why do these planks think they are so much better at WOL? I thought DJ leaving and Malky coming in would have cleared the decks of all previous issues. But no, these fools continue to snipe at DJ and instead of looking forward positively to the new season they have to delve into the past and post comments which they think are clever, but clearly are not. P45 for Mr. Parfitt!!!!!
DJ did a lot for CCFC far more than this scumbag or the local media has ever done, let him make his cheap Devon Loch jokes, it just shows him up for what he is, someone who can't do a decent job of reporting, so they take cheap shots at people who have at least tried to acheive something. Basically a ****er out for a free ride
God knows most us thought it was time for DJ to go, a few had enough of his stubborness and inability to get across that finishing line. But there was a lot about him that was good and we did prosper under him, he got the best out of players that other clubs wouldn't touch. His failings are well known, we, as fans, knew only too well his shortcomings. I am glad we have moved on from DJ, but I remember he has done a lot of good for the club and in the end it was certain players that let us down. It is about those players such an article should have been written, and then I suspect he would have had comments of agreement.
