    • After a 0-0 draw with Manchester United, Newcastle are unbeaten in home matches against the Big Four this season, also keeping Chelsea (1-1) and Arsenal (4-4) to draws and defeating Liverpool (3-1). This marks only the fourth time since 1993/1994 that a promoted side has accomplished this feat.

    From the BBC Match preview.

I'm all for stats which work in our favour, but Liverpool are NOT in the big four. Fact!

The BBC are desperate to hold onto Liverpools "status". Won't work, 'cause they are trash!

We lost to City, who are actually in the top 4. In fact that stat is nonsensical as who were these big 4 from 93-2000ish? Chelsea were an upper midtable team, Liverpool not much better, Blackburn won the league and us and Leeds were qualifying for the Champions League.

The Big Four was coined to put Arsenal, Man United, Liverpool and Chelsea on a pedastal above the rest of us mere mortals so they would seem untouchable

Despite Liverpool not finishing in the top 4 for two seasons straight come the end of this year, they are still listed as top 4?! <yikes>

Really, there is a 'top 3' and then Spurs and City challenging for 4th, maybe Liverpool will next year if they are lucky.
