Now, I for one am fond of standing up to watch football. Thats one reason why I enjoy watching lower league clubs, just to able to stand and watch the game in a good old fashioned terrace. I know alot of people used to stand in the Leazes during matches...and it must be the same for alot of other Premier League teams. So, why doesnt the FA just take a leaf out of the Germans book and use this neat little idea.

    Would work for me.

the FA have proved that they are a bunch of clowns on so many levels so to take on board the German idea will take a monumental shift in the cosmos I reckon.

We'd all love it to happen, but it won't. The FA and FL are too stubborn, it would cost clubs money to implement (even just ripping seats out), they'd have to charge less for a standing spot than a seat... <wah>

I remember it being mentioned on here before because we we're saying how good German fans are. Also they keep the prices down by boycotting games.

I would love safe standing. Hate sitting down at matches, which is why I am worried about moving to the Gallowgate. Hopefully people around me will be from the Leazes as well and we will stand.

I think if you stand...then others behind you will stand (as they won't be able to see) and then their friends will stand and in the end the whole section will stand (hopefully)

Im not a Leazes veteran or anything....but this whole move thing even worries me! Just hope the matchday atmosphere doesnt take a dive because of the move. It would be predicatable that if people are forced to sit in the Gallowgate, the atmosphere will be affected.

The atmosphere will not be the same, as we don't have the influence of the away fans next to us. I am all up for singing, but will just get frustrated if I have to sit. I am bound to have some ****er behind me who will complain to the stewards if I stand.

Sometimes in the Leazes we sang more songs directed to the opposing fans than our own players.

The easiest example was the lass at the West Brom game...mind some of the chants were funny as **** and she was hot as ****...but you know what I mean!

I wouldn't have said no like. I do agree that many chants were aimed at away fans which pissed me off. The game hadn't even kicked off and some were signing shall we sing a song for you. Its thick stuff like that. But when we got going, backing the team, we were sensational.
