We are all scratching our heads at the 5,000 drop in our match day attendance on Saturday, and thinking of reasons why. No doubt the glamourous opening day fixture attracted it's fair share of "glory hunters" from far and wide - people less interested in the match, and more interested in badgering the old codger sitting next to them to take a constant stream of selfies. It's as if some plastic fans at the QPR game needed some sort of proof that they really were there? Going forwards, the Club needs to be imaginative in how it captures new fans. It needs to cast its net wide, if necessary taking in areas even more economically disadvantaged than Jaywick and Sheerness. With this in mind, I have today e mailed CEO Katrien Meire with an idea on how we could boost match day attendances at the Valley. My idea is so simple, others will marvel that they did not think of it.... A VALLEY EXPRESS COACH SERVICE FROM NORTH WALES It is well known that the areas of Wrexham, Rhyl and Clwyd are long standing hotbeds of Charlton support, and the area resembles a Ghost Town on weekends when Charlton are playing at home 280 miles away. Demand for a fleet of Valley Express coaches is bound to be high, and I would even suggest a detour via Cardiff for any fans for whom the Bluebirds are their true, long term love. As an added incentive, "Valley Express North Wales" would offer complimentary cans of on board Special Brew for those of a thirsty disposition, discounted sales of XXXL replica shirts, bespoke Charlton corsets, and of course, free WiFi, essential for Googling Wikipedia during the 8 hour journey South. We need to make it both easier and more attractive for the "missing 5,000" to return for the Rotherham game. These people are not Glory Hunters or Plastics. They just live 280 miles away.
I have got a Season ticket, I go to a number of away games. I go to as many U18 and U21 games as I can. Only an idiot would call me a glory hunter.
Why don't we bid for the Olympics, build a stadium in South London, then afterwards move into it at the taxpayers expense? We could make a load of free tickets available each season
You also made it clear over the summer you would renew your season ticket. Don't listen to the nonsense that oaf spouts, you are well respected and liked on all Charlton forums and your feedback regarding the yoof is always appreciated by all.
reams doesn't like dick plumb because he had the cheek to set up his own Charlton website, the Glutinous Special Brew Guzzler quickly became jealous that a real Charlton fan who goes to more than one game a season was now a "rival" .
reams is a classy bloke. In an ideal world, he would be banned from ever posting on any football forum about anything. In reality, one day he will go too far and will deservedly get nicked. Many people are looking forward to that day.
I got banned from ITTV for posting my disgust at Reams vile pm about fisting All Hells Mum. What sort of person would post something like that? He then removed my post so nobody would see what a vile human being he is and then he banned me. I know you will read this thread Reams I think it is time you got some help from a shrink as you have got some mental health issues. You also have problems with knowing the difference between the truth and lies.
He drinks too much & has anger management issues. Banned from 2 of the 3 Charlton sites, and only allowed on the other one because he moderates it like Chairman Mao.
The man is a first class hypocrite. I was against the comments about his Dad, then he makes a comment about All Hells dead Mother. He owes him an apology, but being the low life that he is, i won't hold my breath.
