Is there anybody out there that could run a Bristol City Bookies, somebody that understands betting odds, not a prediction game but bets and winning amounts..

The rough idea is the person in charge allows us all to start off with a set amount, he selects the games, he selects the number of games, he sets the odds and works out the winnings, the people who end up with the most money are the winners, you could run it for the whole season or have 2 or 3 games over the season..

Anything goes as long as it includes Bristol City...

What do you think and has anybody got the knowledge, interest and the time..?

I thought about doing this last season but just didn't have a clue how to run it. Would be a good idea if someone knows how to follow it through

I have worked as a settler in betting shops and know how to work out which bets to lay off, calculate odds etc what exactly is it you want? It could be a time factor as finding which bets to allow etc could take longer than setting it up. Or you could just decide on which betting exchange to use the odds from and do something based on that.
For example allow people to start with a nominal 100 points min bet 5 points on correct scores for example. or win lose draw and the odds would be those the day before the game as there will be days when I am driving to the games myself.

Default The League 2 Betting Competition - Rules

    1. The competition will start on Saturday 18th August 2012 and end immediately after the final League 2 fixture is completed (currently scheduled for Saturday 27th April 2013)
    2. Each month £1,000 will be allocated to the Betting Account of all competitors
    3. Matches available for betting on will be posted on the Thursday of each week (or earlier), showing the odds available. These will be League 2 matches only.
    4. Single and multiple bets allowed, at the odds posted in the Competition Thread for that week and must be posted at least 5 minutes before the kick-off
    5. The stake may be any amount up to the balance remaining in the Betting Account. If more than one bet is placed on any day there must be enough in the Betting Account to cover all bets. Any bets placed that would cause the account to go overdrawn will be reduced/removed accordingly, starting from the last named
    6. At the end of each month Betting Account Balances will be posted showing the total (if any) carried forward plus the additional £1,000 allocated for the following month
    7. It is not necessary to bet every week but a minimum of £1,000 must be staked every month. Failure to stake the minimum in any month will result in a penalty equal to the shortfall and will be deducted from the Betting Account for the following month (effectively staking the shortfall on a losing bet). Failure to post any bets for 3 consecutive months will result in elimination from the competition.
    8. If a match is not started for any reason, or is abandoned at any stage, the bet will be void
    9. These Rules may be modified at any stage for the purpose of clarity. Any change to the Rules will be notified at the top of the Competition thread then current
    10. For win bets just state team and stake. For draw bets just state home team, "Draw" and stake.

NB. Anyone who missed the start of the competiton may join in at any time and will start on £1,000

Were these the sort of rules you wanted? Which League did you want to cover? can be done but as I no longer have my betting calculator I wouldn't be able to handle Fancy bets - Singles, doubles, trebles, I could manage but things like lucky 15, yankees and canadians etc no way.
Would have to start for the second saturday of the season I will have to ask Ron if there is a PC prog to calculate fancy bets then it might be poss
