I have no longer got sky tv. I threw a hissy fit for them not fixing my internet. So cancelled everything. Expecting them to give me free stuff to stay. They didn't offer me anything to keep me. Has anyone else left sky? What did you do? Can't have cable where I live so Virgin isnt an option. Does anyone use love film on line or netflix? Any help at this sad time would be greatly appreciated.
I moved from cable to sky at my new place. Sky is a **** service compared to Virgin. Like you, there's no cable at my new place so I was stuck with Sky. Ye can't get BT sports on both receivers, only one. Same goes for the boxing channel and others. With Virgin, if you subscribe to anything, it's available for all your boxes. I have Netflix. I watched all Breaking Bad on it, plus random movies. Netflix is much better than Lovefilm. I had that for the trial then dumped it. I think BT has a platform for TV too...not sure what's available on it though. There's also wee dodgy boxes ye can get - the site owner is the man to ask about that though Hope this helps a wee bit. If not, I'm doing hand jobs at the back of the bike sheds for a fiver around 1pm today. xx
Aye, I use a single Sky card for about 15 satellite boxes in my own house and in my family's houses: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Card_sharing It's fairly easy to set up if you are tech competent.
Love film is worse than netflix?? Weird I had been told it was tother way round. My aerial doesn't work either so am stuck with freesat. Also need an internet & phone provider. I'm not that bothered about losing sky channels but the ****ers stop your hd box from recording stuff. So if I want to record stuff it's £150 for a freesat box, £45 for a roku box to stream love film or netflix. Really wish I hadn't lost the plot now. Should have just cancelled their phone and broadband sport an films.
I'm with BT for phone and broadband. Ye get free BT Sports with it. They've got an offer on just now, canny mind what it is though. Their broadband isn't brilliant, it's quite slow. Aye, Netflix is much easier to navigate and it's got more on it. £5.99 a month.
Tech competent My PC is probably 8 years old and I never use it. I have an iPhone and a ps3 and an xbox 360 that's about as techie as I am.
Is talk talk any good? It's £2:50 a month. Bt can't be worse than sky I was getting 0.7mb speed with sky. Hence I lost it as they didn't do anything to sort it out. ****s.
Dunno bout TalkTalk. My BT internet keeps cutting out too, when the house phone goes. I have one of they splitter things but it still cuts out. Ye get 2 of them with their broadband modem.
If you have an xbox you're sorted. 4od, netflix, iplayer, sky if someone has a sky id to lend you. Just plug your puter into your tv and you can stream all tv channels. Paying for stuff is for *****s
Download xbmc wizard hub... On your pc or xbox. I've cable in the sitting room and kitchen and xbmc in each room upstairs. Every thing you need is on it
What about recording stuff?? As was going to buy a decent freesat box which allows you to record which is £160. Was going to buy a roku box to stream netflix but can use my xbox?
I almost did this once We'd probably switch to Virgin or BT if it wasn't for the Sky+ box. We've got about 30 films/programs for the kids on there and it would cost a bomb to replace them all on DVD. DVDs get broken too easily anyway.
I've got two machines similar to this http://www.ebuyer.com/395449-acer-r...ium=products&gclid=CI-xooGLpboCFY7LtAodRWgAFw which I have XBMC (full Linux version) running, with a remote control. It has built in bittorrent and connects to your tv via HDMI, so it just downloads all your shows by itself and lets you watch them straight away without ****ing about.
