Hi all, I think I owe you all an explanation. First of all, thank you to Super for agreeing to become a moderator, this has taken a lot of worry off my shoulders as I have not been able to devote sufficient time to this role as the rest of you deserve. Some may know that I own a dog, this young fella was a constant companion when seven years ago my private life basically fell apart. He is responsible for a lot of the good things in my life at present (including MissyAH) but is now suffering from brain cancer. When I am at home I do not feel it is right to spend hours sitting at the computer as I know it is only a matter of months until I have to make the decision (for his own good) to end his life. This is the reason why I have asked Cyd to appoint another moderator and it has nothing to do with Jonathan. What is my opinion on Jon? When he says that he is trying hard to behave I really do believe he is, yes he can be irritating but has he ever been either nasty or insulting to other posters? I believe not. His biggest problem is his reputation gained from previous sites, his comments on not606 whilst they can be exasperating are not intended to provoke or hurt anybody but just create a discussion. This bit is for Jon - I know mate that you are doing your best but perhaps you need to control yourself a little bit more and start to build bridges by showing you can restrain yourself to posting on the Charlton site only Charlton related issues. Perhaps just one thread on your scouting reports that you add to occasionally? This bit for everybody else but Jon - I would still ask that you give Jon more time to adjust. Perhaps by commenting on his threads why you do not agree with it (I am sure this can be done without relying on insults). Anyway, please stick with it and thank you for your support over the past six months. AllHell Come on you reds!
Good lad allhell and from one dog lover to another give him a kiss from me. I'm trying to find one more mod for this board so that, a) it will give more covarage b) will give a wifer view point and input. Its simple really, the board belongs to the fans who use it, they set the tone and the topics. JA is one poster and I promise you most boards have a JA.
Thank you all hell sorry to here about the health problem i will stick to my 2 threads a day and i am trying my very best to be good on here and get to know everybody i have been on best behaviour since the 2 thread rule cheers all hell for the help u gave me on this respect to all
Chin up AllHell... As a dog man myself (no not the wife... ) I really do feel your pain. It's only when you own a dog that you can fully appreciate just how big a part of the family they become. The only small mercy for our four legged friends is that they are allowed to pass on with their dignity intact when the time comes. A luxury that is sadly not afforded to us humans. I trust you will do your best for him as you have done throughout your time together and that you will know when the time is right to let him go. Take care mate...
my thoughts are with you AHLL. best wishes and thank you for your time since this site started up...u have been an absolute star chrissy is a great choice to fill your boots, a pleasant guy who refrains from slating other posters. great call
AllHell - your contribution has and will be sadly missed, however, you know I'm being sincere when I say I'm lost for words in response to your situation with your much loved dog. I have always been able to work along side you as a mod, despite us being supporters of opposite teams not that many miles apart. I'm sure many will remember that it was your efforts that helped establish the great board you have here. Despite my defence of ja at times, I do hear other posters concerns, I only appeared because I was trying to make a rational judgement on what to do about it (i.e do I contact Syd), in AllHell's understandable absence. AllHell can confirm I sent him a PM, to what was going on. However, some others who will remain unnamed are here solely to stir the hornets nest. All I ask is make your own judgements, if you are following in someone else's posted view, just check their posting history, are they or have they ever been a regular contributor or do they just turn up to post when any trouble is around? An opinion is one thing, motives is another, I hope that makes sense. I will go now but Super you have my support when ever you need it. thanks brb
Sorry to hear about your dog Allhell, they become such an integral part of the family. Have had dogs all my life so know it's not easy. Paul
Very sorry to hear your tale AH- as an animal lover myself, I know full well how the little blighters can tug at even the most emotionless humans heart strings. Trying to replace AH will be like Dowie trying to replace Curbs, such was the respect we all have for him and the job he did. Everything remains the same, and I hope you are still around to cast an eye over events when you see fit. BRB is more than welcome to join in and I will also speak with him should he have any advice on the going ons. One more thing. COYR.
sorry to hear about the dog mate ,its tough when these things happen,i have dogs myself so know what its like .keep your chin up mate
quicky why dont you get another dog now all hell so he has a companion -battersea do really well behaved dogs as they train them up also harrods do some at£900 each
AllHell You've done great work on here, and best wishes to you and the dog. Will you be gone for the forseeable future, or are you taking a step back from the modding but posting your opinions as and when you are able to. I hope it's the latter
Good luck mate. Maybe this might be a good time (although prob not knowing my timing) - but maybe its a thread to highlight where some good things are happening in peoples lives..... Some 5 years ago my personal life was not exactly going thru its best period (cue violins) - and 606 and chatting with you guys helped me (although A2C did get on my tits) but it did provide me with the ability to chat with like-minded . After pushing females to the side for the best part of 5 years, i have now met someone very special, and i feel very happy. So much so, that maybe my recent postings have become further and further apart. The only problem is, she's a Chelsea fan. All you agony aunts out there - what do i do?
addick stu i know you dont like my postings i will try and improve and talk sence well done on finding someone i hope it works out well for you take her to chelsea hotel?
Sorry to hear your sad news, AllHell. I love all animals, but have never had a furry one because my allergies are just too sensitive, There is not a medicine on earth that can help my hooter. But I can understand why people have them and become so attached to them. All the best with the difficult times ahead. I hope you stick around, pal, you are a good guy.
This is a really difficult one, Stu. You need to write to a professional agony auntie, Dear Deirdre, or Dr Miriam or maybe even both!
Sorry to here about your dog - I've lost other ets before but know it's going to be such a bigger deal when my dog passes, just cos she's always been so full of life... treasure the time you have left with him, and thanks for all you've done for this forum.
