Well, we certainly had a better chance of at least a draw when it was 3-2 than we did when it was 5-2 four minutes after Tettey went off. Newcastle managed to tighten up their defence without affecting their goal scoring capability. I'm not entirely convinced by AN's logic, but I still think he's doing a great job.

The thing I like most about AN is that he never tries to hide away after a bad performance and he always shares the blame with the players. That is so refreshing!

This has more the feel of Lambert's first season than of Hughton's one in charge. Under Hughton he would probably have tightened up and kept it 1-0. I would rather see us take the risks at get the odd drubbing. I think that most would have accepted being outside the bottom three and having three points in hand at this point. If we can beat the Baggies and Sunderland win the derby it could be six points after the weekend.

Big game, under lambert we seemed to beat every team below us or around us and kept us 'comfortable' from a way out before the end of the season. Meant we could give it a real go against big teams and get some good results in the process (and some drubbings)
