there's putting a positive spin on relegation (win some games, get rid of some players, get some new ones in) even when everyone in the world knows it's better to be in the top flight,
and then there's deluding yourself into thinking you're better off in a lower league (it does mean they're less likely to be humiliated by us again this season)

as if their already inflated egos and unfounded sense of entitlement wasn't bad enough. there'll be no living with them after the appointment of Benitez:

Can't work them out - rather be in the championship with Rafa (who has failed everywhere outside the top clubs he's managed) than in the PL with Sam (who has never been relegated from the top flight) - clever bunch them lot!

On a more serious level, all I can say Fat Sam's time at Newcastle was a footballing disaster I wouldn't want to risk again.

As far as Rafa is concerned I honestly would rather be in the Fizzy Pop League ( or whatever it's called now) than surviving in the PL with Tufty.
