I have met David Llyod on various occasions and would be very surprised if he didn't pop by to say hello, he gets slated from various angles but I have always found him to be very affable. (He does still owe me a training ground tour and meet the players at lunch, he sold me at a charity function once , I have never received yet though!!)
He helped me get tickets to the Leeds game at home last season when they imposed that telephone ticket ordering rubbish - Top man. Trouble is, we got stuffed and I wish I hadn't gone !!!
I hope that the "Fans Parliament" gets more notice taken of it than the one I was involved with in the 90's - The Football Council. The board at that time couldn't give a toss about anything what we suggested as an improvement. For example, we asked that at least one of the away coaches should have wheelchair access and went to the trouble of sourcing such a coach and it's cost. Club's response was "if anyone in a wheelchair wants to go to an away match, we'll lift them on and off the coach!" We late discovered that someone was on a backhander for letting only one coach company do the away trips. However good the idea was, if it costed money, City in the past just did not want to know. Let's hope times have changed.
I'd like to see them try and lift me on and off a coach I'm close on 22 stone now thanks to my disabilities and the doctors have just discovered the tablets they gave me for tha diabetes affect my metabolism badly and cause me to gain weight rapidly a 6 stone increase in 3 and a half years on days when I have trouble walking I use a mobility scooter reckon it would take 4-6 people to lift me plus scooter.
No mate,no response,no answer,no interest, not even an e-mail to my personal box,no contact with this board to date, zilch, nothing, total ignorance and apathy.. I am waiting until the end of today which is 1 complete week, then I'm dropping this sticky and balls to it,I get more disillusioned with this lot everyday..
I sent an email on 6/12 to David Lloyd and he responded same day. Mine was castigating him over his comments (could have been Prem) that fans didn't understand the 'bigger picture'. Came back with the usual platitudes yet now 6 weeks later we have a new manager. Glad he helped a few on here but that should be part of his remit. To me he's just a typical 'Jobsworth'.
To be honest as affable as he may seem He didn't help me at all.. I paid £160 at a charity function for something that I did not receive!! He was quick to sell it to "the max with add ons" when he was auctioning it. last I heard was he would sort me a couple of tickets out. (cheers! i could have bought them if i wanted them!) So. in hindsight no I'm not really surprised...
I have sent another e-mail today with the original one attached,I hope for a response... Hi David, I appreciate you have all been very busy at Ashton Gate with the appointment of our new manager,I am disappointed that after a week I have had no contact from you,I posted a copy of my e-mail on our forum and it caused a lot of interest from my fellow members and now they are enquiring what reaction I've had from you,of course so far I've had to tell them none, some what may I say to my and their surprise. I am posting a copy below in the advent of you not receiving the e-mail 1st time,I am still hoping you will address our forum or reply to my e-mail and we can engage on any two-way information flow... Yours sincerely ......................or forum name wizered..
We've had a nice contact from David Lloyd and he's coming on later...... Many apologies. I did see the email and popped onto the forum (which I hadn’t heard of before), but as you guessed, recent events have overtaken me. I’ll go on there later and say hello.
