Reading this article made me think. Would you really honestly, ever consider supporting another club, if things don't improve, or get worse.
If the unthinkable were to happen, and Arsenal became another fallen giant like Leeds or Liverpool, would you jump ship, as this individual (seems) to have done?
Not saying I would support another club, there is simply no-one quite like Arsenal and I am a relatively new supporter, so I haven't seen them win their fair share of trophies. Just interested in people's opinions of fairweather fans like this.

By Celine Dion? Her heart must go on, apparently.

He hasn't jumped ship, he's just stopped going to home games. There's a big difference. As usual, the pessimists have misinterpreted an article for their own selfish needs.

Some will obviously not like this, but whether you like it or not, I see more and more fans going down this route, and it's Arsenal's fault, there's only so much people can take, and even I'll admit that my patience right now is wearing very very very thin.

You can't expect fans to remain patient while paying the highest ticket prices in the land and getting no progress, and contrary to what some might say that top 4 is good enough, sorry, AFC is a club with high standards, our standards is to be challenging for trophies, and winning trophies, anything less is a REGRESSION, and that sure as hell wasn't what we were promised when we moved to the Emirates. And to add insult to injury, it's like nothing's being done to improve and get rid of the deficiencies, the deficiencies seem to be getting worst and worst.

Personally, I'd be very happy if more and more fans became like this guy, as it would finally make this ****y board, and Wenger realise that they can't go on this path and expect to get away with it as they've been doing for several years now. Fans don't give a flying **** about Wenger and the board saying how 'proud' we can be of our financial situation, LOL, that's almost so criminal of Wenger to make such an argument, if I gave a **** about how good financial things are going I'd go invest in a company, not watch football. We watch football to see things happen on the pitch, to win things, not hear about good ****ing financial results. And speaking of financial results to be 'proud' of, really? Who's benefiting from those results? I haven't gotten anything in my pocket from those financial results, but Wenger and the board have. This whole bull **** of financial success shows how out of touch Wenger is with many of the fans.

LOL, did you even bother reading the article? The guy said he's fed up with the way things are going, sees no progress in this club, and will stop going to games now because of our rubbish situation, funny how you ignore all of that to suit your own selfish needs.

"Perhaps the essential problem is, I have stopped supporting Arsenal. Not the players themselves. I find them identical and strangely irrelevant. They would, invariably, all be quite happy playing for Marseille or Lazio, or somewhere else instead. They are a pleasant bunch of elite European professionals going about their business. But I don’t actually support the ethos of the club. In fact I find it cynical and repulsive. I identify with the current brand no more than I do British Gas, or Tesco’s. I identify with the pubs, the fans, the tradition, but to continue shovelling money down Kroenkes’ throat when I can’t even afford a new fridge, wouldn’t make me loyal, it would make me insane."

Maybe you missed that part? LOL, talk about the one twisting things for selfish needs. Read the article before you attempt your Wenger like bullshit propaganda to sugar coat things.

You have a great sense of humour zG, study Liverpool's 'decline' since Arsenal's last trophy win and you'll see the irony of your comment.

    Yup same with us then.

We've almost gone bust, ran into the ground by owners, top players leaving, Roy Hodgson, every team who could field a team beating us, record loses/runs of results/starts to seasons, the media and seeemingly every team having their piece of us struggling, our name being dragged through the mud by the racism scandal and currently having no money to buy players.

It's been horrific for the last three years. Since we nearly won the league its incredible how we've nose-dived, and its been painfull.

All this sacrifice to build a stadium, and in a few years Arsenal won't be able to fill it.

I doubt that. Although for anything to change you'll have to vote with your feet.

Sacrifice? Aren't you 'proud' of our financial success? And aren't you happy with consistent top 4 finishes?

I think if we end up out of the top 4 that will happen, our top 4 finishes always makes fans have that small optimism that next season will get better and the top 4 finish will be a launch pad to better things.

I used to go every home game as a young teen.

I didn't didn't go to see spurs between 1993 and 2004 - kids, low paid jobs, child care costs etc. all took up the money.

Between 2005 and 2011 I managed 5 -10 games per season and take the kids to 3 or 4 games.

Last season I made 4 matches and this season 2 but won't be going until the new year (if I can afford it) due to wage freeze and the recession effects.

I have never stopped being a fan throughout any of that time.

No true fan can swap clubs.

The guy is simply saying he ain't prepared to pay money to the club...judging by the number of empty seats at the emerates yesterday he ain't the only one. It doesn't make him or those others less of fans.

Well then he's just a miserable glory seeker. A true supporter supports the club, irrespective of on field results, who's running it etc. If you can't identify with the club, then you're doing something wrong. Every team/business has less savoury parts, the objective is to focus on the positives.

To be fair to him, at least he doesn't come across as someone who secretly harbours a desire for us to fail, unlike some on here (not naming names, Arsenal87). If we succeed, you can't moan, so you wish failure upon us, you bring negativity to every discussion, and you're just ****ing annoying in general.

Ahahaha, you just show how pathetic you are, and that 'fans' like you are hopeless, because anyone that speaks out against the problems, is then someone who just wants to see the club fail. Yes, I just want us to fail, which is why I go to all home games to cheer, as well as go to quite a few away games now (going to Villa), but do continue to show everyone how silly you are with your pathetic assertions, as I said, you're hopeless.

Two CL finals winning one shows your comment is bitterness, or has finishing top 4 and the Emirates Cup become Arsenal's holy grail each season?

We've been out of the CL for 3 seasons and you compare us with Leeds.<laugh>
