Lovely article and its good to see the club remembering stalwarts especially as I did not know of BE and his contribution - but I do know now - which of course is the whole point of the article.Thank you for sharing this with us TSS.
When I was a kid I used to live next door to an ex-Saints player from around the war years and often heard stories from the time (although even then it had seemed like ancient history). What I wasn't aware of though was Bill's continued involvement after his playing career had ended. Nice article, I trust there will be some recognition of him at the Hull game. I just hope it isn't the dreaded minutes applause which seems to be in vogue at the moment (but I suspect it will be).
