    http://www.nufcblog.com/2012/09/23/demba-ba-situation-settles-down-apologies-to-pardew/?

We’re not sure that Newcastle manager Alan Pardew should have mentioned that there was some kind of release clause in Demba Ba’s contract last week after the Everton game, in which Newcastle somehow took a point away from Goodison Park, after looking so second best in that first half.

And Everton’s 3-0 win at Swansea yesterday makes that point look even better, as they were just too much for the Swans and were 2-0 up at the half before Swansea were reduced to 10 men, and it all became an easy victory for the Toffees.

We hope we’re not going to have the shenanigans in January that happened over the summer, with Demba Ba’s representatives generating some news every week that some team was interested in him – we don’t know if we can take that again in January.

And the good news today is that it seems that situation has settled down, and Alan Pardew has stuck to his guns and said that Demba ba has not been playing well this season, and neither has Papiss Cisse for that matter, but both will start against Norwich City today.

    This is what Alan said:

“Demba hasn’t been playing well, he came on at Everton and proved what a great player he is, and he is a great player, but we all need to focus our minds on the job in hand.” “He’s an intelligent boy. Things have been said from within his camp which I think have been unfortunate.”

“We’ve had somewhat of an apology for that as well.” “Make no mistake, he’ll start against Norwich. Him and Papiss Cissé will start. We need them back to their best because they haven’t been at their best until that second half at Everton when I thought, suddenly, ‘here we go’.”

“All teams go through periods when you’re not performing at your very best.” he added. “We’re kind of in that zone but picking up points.”

Ba’s brother, Hamady, had stirred things up on his Twitter account by tweeting this after the selection was made known:

“So Demba scored 17 goals since last year and Alan Pardew decided to put him on the bench today … I think this guy is crazy”

And it’s good that Ba has apologized to the Newcastle manager, and we hope something can be sorted out, and maybe Ba can sign a new deal on Tyneside?

The people surrounding Demba Ba, including whoever officially represents him, have to settle down and be a lot more professional than they’ve been, and stop making this kind of news about Ba, and perhaps Demba should remind them all that they work for him – and it’s not the other way around.

The good thing here is that Demba Ba seems like a good guy, and he certainly likes things on Tyneside, and he should do his talking on the field of play.

Maybe a hat-trick this afternoon against Norwich?

Good that he apologized for the two dimwits. Good that he is unhappy with his form and being on the bench. I like Demba and hopefully the 2nd half against Everton was the start of him, and the team, rediscovering our best form. Still concerned about the central area as Cabaye is out of sorts and we need Cheiks destruction.

Good points ACS + Warm Pouch.

What we really need is both Demba's playing well together and both scoring goals, plus the return of Tiote. Then everyone will be happy. Hopefully, it starts today! <ok>

oh and the speedy recovery for Colo + Krul.

Quite obvious why we haven't been at our best. Lets take say Man C. Kompany is out, Hart is out, Toure is out, Silva out of form, Tevez and Balotelli out of form. They'd be better at coping with us but it would have a massive impact on their form. If people take a step back and look at the bigger picture, we've had a good solid start with massive room for improvement. Its when you are playing at your max and struggling that you should get really concerned.

    THIS! <ok>

We need to really get behind the team on match day and help lift the lads. Not that I can be there in person, but I will be projecting some Jedi Mind Control to help.

It should be the other way around, but it's good to see Demba is still a sensible, down to earth bloke.

Eh? Why would Demba be owed an apology? Pardews agent has not made disparaging remarks about Demba as far as I'm aware. And he certainly should not under any circumstances be given an apology for being placed on the bench. That would a stupid way to run a football club. We'd be back to the bad old days where players were bigger than the club and went down.

Good management by Pards and had the desired effect.

“We’ve had somewhat of an apology for that as well.”

    Not really an apology then.

What worries me, is that Demba (and his minions) have form for this. I believe he all but forced Hoffenheim's hand, when he made the move to West Ham. Demba may not be the agitator, but if he is such a "intelligent" "honest" guy, would he really have these muppets representing him?

I just think that these outbursts from his advisers will be a constant, until he is gone. I know most footballers are mercenaries these days, but Demba seems to be the archetypal mercenary. The clause in his contract says it all to me - always looking at the next move up.
