This feels much like the point at which we sold Andy Cole. Followed by the 'end is nigh' fans being interviewed by the media and Newcastle branded a selling club. Step forward Gillespie, Ferdinand, Ginola and Hislop creating a far better 'team' and not reliant on one 'star striker'. This should prove a very interesting six months for the club and fans and give us an insight as to what type of manager Pardew is (would he have the balls to sit on the steps at the ground and talk directly to the fans and ask for their backing and patience ala KK) and as to whether Ashley is going to back or shaft us. The optimist in me is hoping that we will spend the 35 - 40 million on two strikers in the summer taking Newcastle to the next level. Bear in mind that our scouting and recruitment behind the scenes would have been focussed on looking at 2-4 million purchases not 10 - 15 million and a revised strategy takes time (ie not 5 or 6 hours) to put in place to spend the money wisely.
