What on earth happened to England? It was plain to see there was NO discipline both on and off the park, all this under Jonno of all people. With no disrespect to other nations, we should have made the final, if we played to our potential, all the 'big guns' were in the other half of the draw. For once in my life when people call the RFU and the England set up an arrogant bunch of bastards - I agree 100% Who next for manager eh?
I totally agree on the discipline comment. Lose it in today's professional game, and you're finished. Johnson has stuck with the likes of Wilkinson, Tindall, Hape, and others, for far too long, now. It's time for a complete clean sweep - from the manager on down. We have some talented young players, who would be considered for anybody's team - Laws, Tuilagi, Croft, Ashton, Foden, to name but a few. However, under the current management set-up, they have gone backwards, instead of improving. I hope Johnson, and his team, will do the honourable thing, and resign.
Both Rugby and football could learn from the UK cycling and rowing squads. Focused on winning only. Anything which doesn't help winning gets discarded. Half the England Rugby and Football squads would be out on their ear if this was applied.
To me, Johnson seems like a figurehead coach, a bit like Maradona. In the job only because of what he did as a player. I can't imagine him having the same attention to detail that Woodward had. He just doesn't seem bright enough, and I doubt that he has enough distance from the players.
The only good thing about England and the world cup is we didn't have to listen to the odious Stuart Barnes on commentry. Even when the England team have played well in games he is desperate to find the negative. This has nothing to do with the chip on his shoulder ... has it? I now notice Jeremy Guscott has started to wade in. All these has-beens are so clever ... after they stop playing.
Tuilagi has to be the most brain dead sportsman ive seen in a long time. He's not even that good, I think an English guy deserves the jersey more than him.
Exactly. England's whole World Cup has been a farce, both on, and off the pitch. Somebody has to take responsibility. As we all know that the RFU will never accept responsibility for anything that goes wrong, then it has to be Johnson's head on the block. I can't agree with the Barnes comments. For me he's one of the most insightful commentators around. Miles better than a lot of these so called "experts" most of whom have never set foot on a pitch, themselves.
many of the england players could be accused of bringing the game into disrepute through indiscipline. the management should be sacked and all senior players dropt so that a new style of disciplinarian management may bring on a youngl well behaved squad, the example they can follow is that set by wales, cymru am byth. good luck wales show our indisciplined mob how it is done. england? a ruddy disgrace to the game and country.
god know england have talent that matches the best of NZ,SA and the aussies. It the coach how he sets the side up that seems to be the problem Playing stevens out of postion Brand haskell not being a regular in the back row Flood not starting like in the 6 nations when we we not half bad. ANd with all that Johno lost the dressing room cos of the failed to manage the piss up culture of the players. He has to go , much as it pains me, and replace him with a coach with a good track record. Seeing as he just failed to win with wales maybe Gatland would like a real job running a Team that has a real chance of winning another world cup.
yawn......leave Wales to join a team that has a real chance...........unlike the Welsh players today, just like your own team you have let your country down by actually posting that. You should feel ashamed of yourself and rightly so. It is posts like this that help perpetuate the reason why teams would rather beat England than any other team, whatever the sport. Your country deserves better from you. PS thanks for all the support from the real rugby/sport fans (including the majority of English fans) we have recieved over the last few weeks.
Who would you play over him? He's comitted himself to play for England so for me he's as English as anyone else
England don't have the talent of that level that matches them consistantly, if you believe otherwise you're misinformed. Wales have more talent than England, the English team are turning into media whores.
