    You guys like?

I know England has a few well regarded parks like Alton Towers, Pleasure Beach, Thorpe...etc. Anybody here any more than a casual fan?

My home park, the incredible Canada’s Wonderland has announced they will be adding a record breaking dive coaster for 2019.

Anyone have a favourite park or ride?

Great during the week when the masses aren’t there.

Absolute ****holes when the fat serfs come along during the school holidays and weekends.

    Islands of Adventure in Florida
As close to the perfect theme park as you can get imo

Heading to Salou next week so hoping to fit in a day at Portaventura. Meant to be pretty good

Islands of adventure has already been mentioned and I agree it’s a great park.

I love Busch gardens though. Sheikra is amazing.

Is the new rollercoaster suppose to be similar to Sheikra do you know?

Agreed Busch is great. The zoo part is fantastic too. Montu is our fave ride there though. Like Sheikra but a bit one dimensional if you know what I mean

I think all the Dive coasters designed by B&M are similar. This one will be tallest, fastest and have most inversions (4) but won’t have Sheikra’s cool splashdown. I have a feeling I’ll end up looking at the dive as a one trick pony, although that’s one hell of a trick.

PortAventura has some sick coasters. Give us a tiny report if you do make it out there.

Best days to go are after it’s rained a few hrs in the morning. Potential crowds are usually cut in half.

    Certainly will.
Apparently the coaster at ferrari land next to portaventura is meant to be pretty decent. One if those 0-100 in seconds jobbies.
Me and the missus have always enjoyed a good theme park. Lots we’d love to go to around the world, but by the time we could afford to make the trip, we’ll be too old!

Yeh I get you. Montu and Kumba are both decent, didn’t get a chance to do Cheetah run as it was so busy last time I went - which is such a shame as it looks great fun!

We did cheetah run last time we went!
Yeah it was good fun. More a pleasant ride than a ‘holy **** we’re gonna die!’ If you get me?

Yeh definitely get what you mean.

I always get that feeling when I get to the top of sheikra, it’s higher than it looks up there!

I used to love all that ****. But then I went on the Cyclone in Coney Island and it was like being a ****ing car crash. Literally. Swear that **** was responsible for years of back pain.

Yeah famous wooden Rollercoaster in Coney Island. I think it's around 100 years old now. It's a ****ing bone shaker, none of this smooth, swooping and gliding. It's a full on skeleton rattler and honestly it is the equivalent of being thrown around in a car crash.

There’s a newish company around called Rocky Mountain Construction who have been making huge waves in recent years in the roller coaster industry. They are working on a single rail steel track, but what they’ve done thus far is take the older wooden coasters and retracked (and slightly redesigned) them with steel track. I haven’t rode one yet but they are highly acclaimed.

This is Steel Vengeance at Cedar Point, their latest model (former Mean Streak woodie) and many are calling it one of the best roller coasters on the planet.

It really does look relentless. And those airtime hills...

Last theme park I went to was Alton Towers with my mates which was a laugh until I went on the Smiler which is the rollercoaster with the most twists and turns in the world at the time.

I am 6"6 and fit very snugly in the seats and not to put a too fine point on it, I was talking at a higher octave and walking bow legged for a good few days after.

And their thing is that the rides they work on are supposedly smooth as butter.
