Has Maynard even really played for them yet? He was slow to settle in his first year here, so if he gets a change in the Premier League then he could do fairly well. However, we'll be the judge on value when Baldock actually plays for us. If he scores against Franchise FC then we'll know we've got a winner.
I was surprised to read that Baldock asked Maynard about the club and he "said good things". Surprised and extremely pleased. It would be all too easy for Maynard to have bad mouthed us, so he's gone up in my estimation significantly.
I heard that as well last night. I know Nicky went under a cloud in the end, but I can always remember reading what he said regarding Del, that he wished he came earlier as he was a great to work with. At the time we looked certs for relegation, and I believe he thought that if he stayed he would be playing in the 1st division. If only he never made that stupid comment about his baby's accent. But as you said he could of mentioned how the fans turned on him at the end and put a poor picture in the move for us.
