Bhartia has stood down as Chairman and the wonderful Hoos has added that title to his present position. Also, the South Africa Stand is to be renamed The Amit Bhatia Stand. Further revenue presumably? Lots going on eh?
Chaos innit? I no longer know what's good, bad or indifferent anymore. Assume this stand sponsoring along with the renaming of the stadium are beneficial to our FFP position.
Amit Bhatia @Amit_Bhatia99 To my QPR family, a few parting words as I step down as Chairman to express my sincerest thanks to you for your support of me through the last 16 seasons. Suffice to say, It’s been the ride of a lifetime. We have shared many forever memories together. I was a young man of 27 when I became an owner, and QPR has been an integral part of who I am every week and weekend since. It’s now the same for my children and my family, we all bleed blue and white hoops. It has been the privilege of my lifetime to be involved with and lead QPR as chairman, a responsibility I have always cherished and worn with great pride. I have always known unwaveringly, that this is your football club, and that I am merely a custodian of its legacy for a period of time. That responsibility has always guided me to do my very best, within my ability to do so. Before the start of last season I felt that we were in the strongest position we had been in for many years, and that perhaps now was our time. It’s hard to believe we sat at the top of the table a mere 12 months ago. What has happened over the past 12 months is as confusing as it is unimaginable. I haven’t said much recently, frankly because I really couldn’t explain it or didn’t know what to say. The unprecedented slide we’ve suffered has necessitated multiple changes, decisions that I regret have not proved successful. As I step down, I wish circumstances were different. It is undeniable that we have made a poor start to the season. However, I remain steadfast in my belief that we have more than enough quality in our squad to turn this season around. The recent appointment of Marti is a very exciting one, and I hope it brings with it a change in both our fortune and form. Thank you again for supporting me, and for your continued support of this amazing football club that needs you now more than ever. Though I'm stepping down as Chairman, I remain a devoted fan and shareholder, as do my family. We will continue to do whatever we can to continue to support the club. Sincerely Amit Bhatia

From SB. Having a CEO who is also Chairman is a very American model. But over here the role of Chairman is very different…..including advising the board to sack the CEO and taking the lead in appointing a new one. 19 minutes ago
The revenue from renaming stand and also this morning the training ground...is a drastic attempt to keep us FFP compliant in lieu of the expensive Ainsworth sacking. Hoos is scrapping around to keep us solvent. Drastic and dangerous times
That's as honest a statement as I've ever heard coming out of QPR. The bit where he states the slide down is inexplicable has a strong ring of truth - in other words, he's been scratching his head as we've been scratching our collective head. Wish him well and do hope he means the bit about being lifelong fans.
Not said here, but running riot elsewhere, Hoos is not Director of Football. We do not officially have one, no idea who is carrying that role currently. I also have no idea who appointed the new manager. I am sure it's not Hoos, who admits he has no knowledge of football, and knowing a Spanish manager who works in Scandinavia is well beyond his ability
Hoos spoke about always needing a plan if a new manager is required, Marti was interviewed by us before we appointed Beale. It was decided that because of the amount required to buy him out of his contract, the money would be better spent towards new players . Now a year on, his buy out wasn't as expensive, what with him only having a year left to run on his contract !
Cifuentes was the favoured option to take over from Beale when Ferdinand was still DoF but we couldn't afford to buy him out of his contract and wound up getting Critchley because was available and cheap. Presumably the board have now just returned to Ferdinand's choice of coach.
