@Amit_Bhatia99 Amit Bhatia Everyone is working hard behind the scenes to add quality and strength to the squad. Its difficult to do business this window but we at it.. @Amit_Bhatia99 Amit Bhatia Have to balance our desire of bringing in players with what's realistic to pay for them. Rest assured everyone is working hard though.... @Amit_Bhatia99 Amit Bhatia I'm hopeful we'll bring in good players before the end of the window. Would have liked to bring in before Saturday but may not be possible. @Amit_Bhatia99 Amit Bhatia So many moving parts to each deal that can only hope to conclude as soon as possible. I'm as keen as anyone to bring in sooner than later. http://twitter.com/#!/Amit_Bhatia99
Why is it so difficult to bring in players in Jan? So many people have said that (is it an excuse more than a reason?) but if the player wants to leave and the club don't need him, where's the problem?
Business with club. Business with agent. Business with player. Terms and conditions. Yesses. Noes. Maybe's. Second thoughts. Am I doing the right thing? Who else is bidding? What are they saying... and loads more including work permits etc. etc. Amit's right. Loads of stuff to get through and much of it for nothing. Best to shut our eyes, grit our teeth, cross our fingers and hope a few things work out in our favour.
OK OK OK. Good. But look here - what if I did this to you NW detractors. : @NeilWarnockQPR Neil Warnock Everyone is working hard behind the scenes to add quality and strength to the squad. I'm as keen as anyone to bring in sooner than later. Imagine for a minute that the above Tweets were put up by NW at the beginning of the season??? Pretend that he did. What's so different? NOTHING. The words are the same. They ain't telling us sh_te. Corporations' words. Business words. Empty. Meaningless. Business as usual in upper management of a company. Who are they bringing in, who are they looking at, what country, what teams, what league, what division, what language, how much, for how long, loan or permanent, expensive or free????????? Talk about dishonesty. The above words are from a lawyer. Only allowed to say in only the most inconclusive and non-commital way about nothing. And people defend players when they complain about being cut and not making the squad or why we got a crappy player who's no longer in the first squad, why why why....... Isn't it obvious what's going on? Agents and Lawyers.
I believe Amit. Listening to SSN was EXCITING!! Come on guys, esp Yappy, now is not the time for doom and gloom. The players on Saturday know they are playing for their places in the team. Happy days are just around the corner.
The problem dealing in January is that everyone knows who are desperate, that in itself puts millions on fees and £10k's on wages demanded. Reports yesterday that the Onuoha deal was nowhere near figures quoted in the press. The whole window is a merry-go-round of speculation, posturing and downright lying. Don't be surprised to see players who were not for sale traded in the final hours and loan deals on the last day of players who probably over-cooked their demands and end up eating humble pie...
After day is night, more chance of snow in winter, electricution hurts...... sorry is this stating the obvious?
I dont think it would be pertanent to let all and sundry know who we are in discussions with, I mean Taiwo was from left field. We as fans have been calling for the club to undertake the transfer deals in a more business like manner and when they do, they are being dishonest. I also didnt think a club could say they are looking at player A,B and C due to the potential for tapping up allegations. I am happy the way its going and should we get any more suprises such as Taiwo may it continue. The last thing a club wants to do is state how mych they are paying, offering etc as this gives the rivals some info, I mean you dont go to an auction and know exactly how much each person is prepared to bid to/ There are exciting times ahead and NW did a great job for us and its now MH's turn to carry on the work and lead the team forward.
It makes me laugh to hear some people on here. They are so far out of touch with reality in terms of business. If the board were to talk freely about every transfer target then we wouldn't be able to sign anyone because people would jump in with a slightly higher bid. In poker you don't show other players your cards, why not? Because you'd lose. It's unbelievable that people don't believe that we are doing enough to sign players. Moaning that Norwich and Swansea can do a deal, why can't we. Have you seen the difference in the level of players that we and the other promoted teams are chasing? Are ambitions are far higher, but this means we have to battle it out with the big boys, which also means we will often lose out. But does this mean we should be chasing players from the Championship like Norwich and Swansea? Would anyone be happier with that? You can't ask for the best players and moan when things take their time. Just let things happen. The sacking of Warnock meant we've had to start the bidding processes from scratch. But already Hughes has attracted a World Class player that nobody even knew that we were after. Things will happen, but at the speed of business, not peoples unrealistic expectations.
Let's beat wigan on Sat and then we don't play again in the league until the window is closed. Most of our deals will happen in the last 48hours. Most of us wanted players in before wigan but that was always going to be a long shot due to time constraints and the length it actually takes to get a player over the line. When we beat wigan it will give us a huge lift and take some pressure off. Then the board will have about 10 days to get the right deals done. Just wish that it was being done out of the media spotlight. Was thinking that there is limited transfer activity happening in the Prem at the moment and most media have very little to write about except for us.
Nuts i agree, it is a shame we are in the spotlight but isnt it TF that put us there? With regards to the Wigan game, god forbid, but if we lose or draw?
This! Either we have to lower our expectations and challenge Norwich, Swansea, WBA for Championship players. Or we go for better players that can make an immediate impact, with competition from clubs on the upper half of the Premier League. My choice would be the last one as I can't see the first one improve us enough.
Interesting. If it were up to us would we be willing to swap league positions with, say, Norwich but that meant we could bring in no additional players in this window? The problem of course is that without the tactical fix (staying up) the strategy of buying quality players is worthless.
Yes aaaaagh, Norwich have put themselves in a position to bring in players that doesn't necessarily have to perform immediately. Would I like to swap league position with Norwich, hell yeah! But i wouldn't have swapped owners and ambition with them.
DURING the transfer window, going out and simply putting in offers for the ones who ARE AVAILABLE is not tapping up! Goes to show you that you have absolutely no idea what that means. All I'm asking for is for a bit of honest, business numbers. Say if I were to ask you for detail, when you tell me you're looking for a car. And so I ask, how much do you have to spend? You tell me a figure. And then I ask what you're looking for, and you tell me the size and colour. That's the sort of thing I'm asking for! Simple, basic factual stuff, not some backhanded secret-handshake tapping-up stuff they may all do behind closed doors during non-transfer windows!!!!!! There is a list of available players around the world, with basic price tags on them. And then there is a figure we can offer based on our budget. That's what I'm asking for. Tapping up! Get a clue, man.
Trouble is if people know your budget then the selling club will use that against you ie if we do have a budget of £20 mill and people believe we need 4 players then as deals are done they know what we have left to spend. Its always like thisevery January. The players that are or maybe available are either a lower teams best players (samba) or a team like Spurs fringe players. In the case of the Samba's of this world Blackburn will not realease till as late as possible and hopefully get a higher price due to PANIC buying (Carroll to Liverpool). I think the messages coming out of QPR are honest and clever. I say clever because everyone knows we have had 2 bids rejected for Samba. What do Blackburn do? Say he is not for sale but the next day say they have only had one club bid!! why is that relevant if not to suggest they may prefer a bidding war. So what we then do instead of making a 3rd bid we say we will now look elsewhere for our targets. It shows we will not be held to ransom especially as we are the only club who has bid. So if it puts the onus back on Blackburn. I actually this our best signing so far could be Philip Beard as he seems an astute businessman playing against men who use childish games...only one winner.
