Hi, I am a big football fan in the UK and I am writing my final year university dissertation on the topic of the strategic challenges that UK football Clubs may find when attempting to enter the US market, and how marketing can help to overcome these challenges.

I therefore thought it would interesting to get the view and opinions of this topic from football/soccer fans residing in America as a part of my research, and I would be extremely grateful if the members of this forum could answer a few questions for me.

Any information will be appreciated, so don't worry about how long/short the replies to questions are.

    What team do you support?

How long have you supported your club?

Do you support more than one team, if so who?

What do you feel are the main reasons for first choosing to support your club over other clubs?

Where did you first hear about the team?

Did their marketing have an impact on your decision to support them or increase your awareness of the team?

Do you purchase the clubs merchandise?

Have you ever, or do you plan to see a match live?

How would you usually watch/listen to matches (e.g. TV, Radio, Live, Internet Streams)?

What do you feel are the main challenges that a UK club would face in trying to build a fan base in the US for example, do you think that patriotism of American sport could have an impact on the popularity of soccer in the US?

Do you think soccer had become increasingly popular in the US, if so why do you think that is?

Any help is appreciated, Thanks :)
