Newcastle winger/forward Sammy Ameobi has been offered a new deal by United according to reports this morning.

Shola’s younger brother turns 23 in May and will be out of contract the following month unless a new deal is agreed.

The Sunday Sun say that Sammy Ameobi and his representatives are currently in talks with Newcastle to try and reach a compromise on a contract extension.

Fans will be split as to the player’s future, in his Newcastle Premier League career to date he has contributed two goals and three assists in 46 appearances, though the majority of those have been as a substitute.

Two cracking goals against Hull and Spurs this season have suggested he has ability but he also has an uncanny knack of being totally anonymous in other matches.

A two year deal would surely be the very maximum that could be offered for a player who has shown so little in his career so far.

Anything longer and supporters may fear this is a misplaced attempt at a ‘feel good’ deal for Newcastle fans, with Sammy ending up on a deal for life like his older brother.

Anyone else have that sneaking suspicion that Shola has been taking lenalidomide (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/a...-Lenalidomide-drug-longer-healthier-life.html) and has actually swapped places with the real Sammy?

 

Personally, I think its all wrong to only have one Ameobi at the Club....
Ameobi's come in pairs, they're not singular entities.

It's just not morally right, so either get rid of Sammy or try and sign his glorious brother as well.....now, he's a god like man of integrity who even BRS would surely welcome with arms wide open....
