Agreed, even when we had the spell before half time, u knew we weren't going to score and that was down to those 2. When Liverpool have Suarez and the like u know they can score and inevitably went onto win 3-0.

Its horrible knowing that theres no-one to come back and play up front and that Lovenkrands and Ameobi is the best we're going to get this season.

I would start Kuqi against brum.

I dont blame Lover too much, he at least puts the effort in but what has he got to work with playing off Ameobi? A proper target man and he'd look better.

Although to be honest they probably are amongst the worst strike partnership in the league. When Best's playing we arent so bad but at the moment it's pretty dire.

Yes, because he was bad today he is always ****<doh>
He's been good recently, gets **** all from Ameobi and all the high crosses are no good to him, needs through balls to have an effect.

Both Lover and Ameobi have been transparent in recent games and the only reason to keep them for next season is for squad depth and the Mackems..

Gotta agree with Smudger here. Lovenkrands puts in a great shift and you get your money's worth (which admittedly isn't very much - relatively of course), Ameobi doesn't justify a starting place in my opinion. Also Lovenkrands has a 1 in 4 ratio, whereas Shola is 1 in 5...

Look at the bottom 3 clubs, West Ham, Wolves & Wigan

West Ham strikers better than Lovenkrands & Ameobi: Ba, no questions. C.Cole? Piqiuonne? Neither can be any worse..
Wolves strikers better than Lovenkrands & Ameobi: Kevin Doyle, arguably.
Wigan strikers better than Lovenkrands & Ameobi: Rodallega, probably.

    How ridiculously depressing is that?!

Also, what about Blackburn? Benjani and Roberts yesterday, and Everton only had Anichebe as well. Not really any better than Lover and Shola are they?

In all honesty, I think we would score a lot more if we had Gyan up top.

In a lets all laugh at Sunderland way, None, Sunderland are **** <laugh><laugh><laugh>

Agree, but then we arent full strength here either, we'd score a lot more if we had Ben Arfa off Best instead of Lover and Shola.

Our strikers have scored more this season than Spurs' have. People should cut them some slack, their job this year was to score enough goals to keep us up, and they've done that comfortably.

    True <ok>

Maybe so, but they have also cost us a fair few games we should have comfortably won, by offering the midfield absolutely nothing to work with!

Shola has 5 goals in 25, its an equally dire record & Rodallega cant be as frustrating to watch as Ameobi!
