So it's worse than we expected. Amat is apparently out for 6 weeks with the knee injury he picked up at Chelsea. I didn't notice the point at which he picked up the injury. I thought he had been sub'd at half-time because of the yellow card and the potential of being caught up in Costas' antics. It's a bit of a blow because Amat was one of our strongest and steadiest performers, quietly going about his business, gaining confidence and realizing his potential with every match. What now? Is Fernandez all that and then some that his price tag would suggest. Is he ready. Is he the right fit for Ash. Or does this give Bartley his one chance to make his mark. In the past week we have seen Fernandez against the Germans and Chelsea. Not exactly stellar and steady in either. Your thoughts ...
Got to go with Fernandez and start integrating him IMO. Gutted for Amat. Good Job Bartley is fit or Tancock would be on the bench.
Gutted amat is out but this gives Fernandez his chance to claim the position for himself. I don't think he has got to grips with the type of football we play yet but it goes without saying he is a quality player and the more he trains and the more he plays will see him getting to know his team mates and we should see a player who is an international player at that settle in ok....
