that can't get over excited about Lambert and Holt leaving.

I think Lambert probably see's Norwich as a job done and Holt is looking for one big pay day before he retires

We have completed our 7 year plan in 3 years and Lambert and Holt have played a massive part in this. They've both deserve the credit they've been given, but if the club is to continue move forward then they both needed to go at some point. Ideally I would have liked to see them stay another year, but provided we get the right manager in I don't see them going as major concern.

Now if McNally was to go I would be really concerned

Spot on - as long as we have McNally, there's hope for our team. I don't understand what has brought about Holt's decision, as he only moved his family down from Carlisle earlier this year and he's now uprooting them again. <doh>

I think you will find this is all part of the "Villa Plan" and that Holt's "dissatisfaction" stems from Lambert's original decision to go.Like you though I think they have done their job but we must get proper money for Holt. After last season he is worth towards £10million,certainly no less than 7.

I agree, we all knew Lambert would leave at some point and Holt is not getting any younger. They have both been fantastic for us and like you I would of liked them to stay another year however the club will continue to move forward without them. It does though make the next managerial appointment a very impotent one, but we are in a healthy position so there is every reason to be optimistic. Holt though will never fetch anywhere near £10 million, I would imagine the most any club would pay for him would be around the 5 million mark tops.

At his age, £5m is a stretch; 4 is probably a more realistic valuation. At this level, 1 maybe 2 more seasons. Wasn't he on the bench a lot for you guys last season??!!

Wet Sham have reportedly offered £4.5M as an opening bid. Reckon we might get a bit more if a bidding war starts with i.e. Sunderland. Take the money <ok>

    Only this <OK>

PS - I'd just like to say a massive thanks to both for dragging our club up from the depths and wish you Good Luck for the future. <cheers>
