    Watch the replay.

It comes off the meaty bit half way up his shin. Sure that would make it the "Greatest Fluke Of The Season" only just ahead of when Gyan scored against us with his massive love piece..ha

Credit where credit is due, for example, his volley against us at Old Trafford is one of the greatest volley's I have ever seen, but this one was a fluke. But as it's Rooney.. everyone will side step that and procede to the "Wayne Is God" w*nk-a-thon!

I still stand by my opinion that Pele scored a far better goal in 'Escape to Victory' with a bicycle kick.

Mau U dont do flukes. I mean Chicharitio's first goal was expertly played off the turf and onto his face.
And lets not forget Scholes goal in the CL where he dummied a shot and perfectly placed the ball into the far corner with his standing shin... (Not suprisingly i cannot find this anywhere, please someone else say they saw this and im not dreaming...)

lol no, I thought it was an amazing goal, until I saw the slow-mo replay.

His technique was superb, but if it came off his shin, surely it can't be a great goal?

It was a sensational goal imo, and I hate Rooney.

However, can someone please post a video of Laurent Robert's overhead/karate kick against Fulham, now that was ****ing awesome!

It actually looks like it comes off his shin, the replay at 44 seconds tends to suggest this anyway!

He's been taking some pointers from the sholacoaster and realised scoring with your arse/neck/leg is much more fun than the conventional method.

Not Rooney's biggest fan but to suggest it was a 'fluke' is a little unfair imo

The intent was there, you can question his form- which is ****e but he IS a talent!

But yeah, no doubt the media will be on the Rooney bandwagon once again!
